Question about NEC LT 260K Multimedia Projector
My LT260 was on as usual last night and all of a sudden it started making a terrible noise. It sounds like something making contact with a cooling fan inside the unit. Anyone experience this or can advise me on how to open the projector up and investigate?
To open this projector, you need to undo six screws at the underside of the case. That means you have to turn the projector upsidedown.
Pls note that one of these scews is a little hidden under the carrying handle.
After removing the screws, return the projector to it's normal 'up-side' up, standing position.
Remove the bulb cover srews and remove the bulb cover.
Lift up the top cover carefully starting from the front then all together.
The cooling fan is mounted very near the bulb assembly.
Carefully check the fan blades for any obtacles, wires or even a broken fan blade, that could be causing the noise.

Same thing happened to me I took it apart and the disk for the colors shattered. It spins on a high speed motor completely out of balance. The heat of the light dried out the disk. I am currently looking to replace the disk, but that is my problem
