Heater won't stay on more than a few minutes before tripping the breaker.

Holmes hch6150 will not produce heat

Without having the heater to tear apart to see what is not working, you may try the following. Your heater is a 1500 watt heater and pulls about 13 amps of current. If you plug it into a recepticle that is already have load turned on, most recepticle circuits are rated for 15 amps and you have probably tripped the breaker for this circuit. Check your breaker panel to see if a breaker is tripped. If it has tripped, this will tell you your pulling to much current. Try another circuit that allows the heater to operate or find the other load on the circuit that is causing the breaker to trip. By the way to reset the breaker take the breaker to full off, this resets the trip, and then turn it back to on.
Hope this helps

Hi, I don't know what the reset switch on my dimplex ofc2000ti looks like, anyone any ideas? Power to unit but not heating up, all connections inside fine. Hopefully it overloaded and tripped.

Turn the Master On/Off Switch to OFF and unplug the unit from the wall receptacle. Leave it unplugged for 12 - 15 minutes. That should give it enough time to reset itself. Then plug it back in and give it a try. Also, make sure that the wall receptacle is working properly and hasn't tripped the circuit breaker in your home's circuit breaker panel. If it did, something is seriously wrong electrically, with the heater.

Hope this helps you solve the problem. Please don't forget to rate my response to your question.

I have a bfh5000 bionaire electric heater and it wont turn on and the red light blinks ???????

First turn the heater off using the On/Off switch. Then unplug the heater for 12 - 15 minutes. This will allow it time to reset itself if possible. Then plug the heater back in and turn it ON. If it didn't reset itself, check the receptacle its plugged in to to make sure that it's still working. If it's not, the circuit breaker for that receptacle has been tripped and will need to be reset in your home's circuit breaker panel. If the heater trips it again, there is a short somewhere in the wiring of the heater, which will have to be repaired.

Hope this helps you Troubleshoot the problem. Please let me know.

I have have my sunbeam electric heater model number sfh090 for a month now and it just stopped working and wont turn on or anything! i tried leaving it unplugged for a while then plugging it back in but...

Have you tested the receptacle that the heater is/was plugged into, to make sure it's working and a circuit breaker hasn't been tripped?

If not, plug a lamp into the receptacle to see if it works. If it doesn't, check your home's circuit breaker panel for a tripped breaker. If you find one, make sure there's nothing still plugged into the offending receptacle and reset the breaker. Then, plug the heater in and turn it on. Does it trip the breaker again? If it does, there's some type of short in the electrical system of the heater. If it doesn't trip the breaker, but still doesn't work, return it to the place of purchase for a replacement. However, you must have your Proof of Purchase Receipt to do this.

Hope this helps solve your problem.

Hello, I hope all is well: the cz-7007 is not working at all. I've had it less than 3 months. Thank you and have a blessed day. Best Regards, Dr. M.J George-McBride, PhD

Good day, Doctor.

First, have you tested the wall receptacle that the heater is plugged into? Have you plugged a lamp or other electric appliance into it, to see if it's working? If nothing else works in that receptacle check for a tripped circuit breaker in the panel box of your home.I f there is one tripped, make sure nothing is plugged into the offending receptacle and reset the breaker, by turning it on. If one is tripped, now you need to figure out what tripped it. Was it the heater? Probably so. In any event, plug the heater back into the receptacle and turn the heater on. Did it trip the circuit breaker again? If so, there is an electrical short in the heater. Since you have only had it for 3 months, I would assume it's still under warranty. If so, follow the instructions in the Owners Manual about returning it to the manufacturer for repair or replacement.

Hope this helped to solve your problem.

Could be either. But, I suspect that wiring is getting hot enough to trip the breaker. Check all of your wiring to see if there is a hot spot or insulation melted.

If the interior of the heater is dusty and dirty, this may be your problem. Turn off the circuit breaker feed to the heater, remove the front cover and clean the interior with a vacuum cleaner with brush attachment. Pay special attention to the fan blades. Any dust and dirt that the vacuum can't reach can be blown out with a can of compressed air (like you clean a computer with) and the straw nozzle. If you use the canned air, vacuum again after blowing it out. Replace the front cover, turn on the circuit breaker and test the heater. If that doesn't solve the problem, go to the manufacturer's website to obtain parts.

Try changing circuits (plug into one not protected by the same breaker.)
While the heater element can fail in your heater, I have had to replace several breakers after only a few years use after they became overly sensitive.

Have a 155000 btu ready heater

It sounds like the unit is tripping the breaker because the breaker is not rated high enough to handle the heaters power usage! If its not that then it may very well be the thermostat needs replaced in unit!
Test at a friends house to see if its your system or the unit!
