Check for a faulty water inlet valve solenoid. They can be tested using a multimeter or ohmmeter. Check for continuity. A lack of continuity means a bad solenoid. A faulty solenoid can permit some water to leak through when the washer is idle. I will attach a photo for reference. Sorry for your trouble and I hope this helped. Best wishes.

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,

Remove power completely AND turn of either the hot or cold tap/fawcet and see what happens. If no water being fed into drum turn the tap which is off back on and see. If water is being fed in again then it is symptomatic of a malfunctioning whichever water control valve not closing completely- its default/no power position. Sorry but it needs replacing.
If water is only being fed in when there is power on it could be the control board feeding the incorrect voltage to the valve ;-0(

If this has assisted you please consider a 4 thumbs up for the rating.
Thanks and good luck!

My Whirlpool front end loader washing machine is leaking from the degergent dispenser. Also, when it is on the spin cycle, it makes a load noise and it will occasionaly leak from under the door.

We just had the same problem. After taking out the detergent tray, we saw the water was not draining into the drum. Feeling around the door seal in the upper corner (there is a small opening all the way around, between the door seal and drum seal, that you can fit your fingers into - please unplug your maching), my husband felt some fabric, and pulled out a mangled toddler pillowcase, which would have been in there for about two - three loads prior to finding the leak. Odds are you may have some medium size fabric piece in there, and is likely is the blockage. This is where the water seems to drain from the detergent compartmemt to the Drum.

Ether the washer is over filling or has warn out the seals. If it has been abused (overloaded) it needs serious work. other wise the sensor may be stuck. Try 1/2 cup of vinegar with a load and see if that cleans the sensor travel area past the drum but inside the tub. This is a common problem for an old machine. Best leak is on the door and you may be able to tighten the screws but be careful it could mis aligne it so tighten a small amount and test by closeing the door. Do this at least twice before turning the screws hard.

Water leaking from Door and Draw from Hotpoint Aquarius Extra

Had the same problem. I unplugged the machine from the mains. pulled it out from the unit and removed the lid. checked the black rubber hose which leads from the drawer to the drum. it was full of water. i carefully squeezed the pipe and tried to clean it out with warm water to see if it was clogged. still leaking. i then Removed the green paddle on the inside and turned the drum to line up with the black rubber hose that leads from the drawer. I very carefully used a wire coat hanger to put through the gap in the drum left by the paddle. Moved left and right, oh look.... A sock! I manipulated it out of the gap, checked the hose. Water had gone. Put everything back together. No leak. All done in under an hour :-)

Water leaking from my whirlpool frontload washer

open the door and check between the drum and door frame. There is a large rubber bladder completely surrounding the drum. Pushing the drum further back into the machine will let you see the entire thing and unfold it. These often get small laundry like socks stuck there as well as sharp objects like nails. You may have a tear in it which will leak like that. Replacement parts run about $70.00.
