Question about Samsung CLP 300 Laser Printer

Print is missing off top of page

My printer has been working fine up until today, where it has now started missing off the top of my page and shifting everything up unnecessarily. Its sooooo frustrating! I've tried uninstalling it then re-installing it but to no avail. Anybody got any suggestions?
I'm using MAC OS X 10.4.10

Hi, I have exactly the same problem. Furthermore, the very top band
(ie: the url if I print a web page) seems to get shadowed on the back
of the page, which seems to me that the printer is printing that top
line on the rollers themselves, and then "inking" residue on the
    reverse side of the paper.

This problem manifests no matter what I print: web pages, PDFs,
documents from OOo... it is not a margin error, since I have not
altered the margin settings in ALL of these applications.

It looks like the printer is somehow misreading the paper edge and
pulling it in 1/4 inch too far inside when it prints, resulting in the
top bit cut off and everything else seemingly shifted upwards.

    Anyone able to help?

I have exactly the same problem. Does it on 8/10 sheets printed.

I'm having the same or very similar problem. My Samsung CLP-300 worked fine until about a month ago. For some reason when I try to print labels it no longer lines up and anything else I try to print ends up getting cut-off at the top. I know it's not the margins either, as I have not touched them and this printer worked fine for labels before. Every now and then it will still print right, but most of them time it is off-kilter! Please someone help! I haven't had this printer more than 4 mos. and I can't believe it's already messing up!

Its not an application problem as far as I can see as it does it with the printer configuration test print. i.e. The Samsung logo is only half printed on the page. The remainder is on the roller which then smudges on the back of the printed sheet. I have emailed Samsung but not heard back yet

I lose the top 1/2" on everything I print, most often margins. I'm wondering if I misaligned the feed rollers while dealing with a paper jam?

I have the same problem with the margin at the top being too small. Can you actually change the printer settings so it prints correctly?

What application are you using (w/ the document)? Margins sound like the problem. If you have changed any bottom or top margin, or added a footer or header, it may have altered the overall option on top of page.

How do I fix repeated paper jams?

Had the same problem with a HL-2140N. My solution was, after unnecessarily taking the whole printer apart inspecting the paper path and assemble it again afterwards, to check if the manual feed would still work. As this worked without a problem, I fuzzily guessed that something had to be wrong before that point.
In my printer, only the separation pad, and the roller right next to it came into question (both mounted at the front of the paper tray). I cleaned the separation pad (ultra fine paper dust gathered over the years) with cleansing alcohol, and took apart the roller assembly next to it (same kind of dust).
Especially the latter was super dirty. I took the roller out to clean the cleansing pad below it with an old toothbrush (Meridol Soft), reassembled, de-greased the roller with some cleaning alcohol, put everything back in place, and my printer works again the way I would expect it too.
