Question about Sony A100 Digital SLR & 18-70 Lens Kit Digital Camera
My Sony 18-70 kit lens mounted on A200 makes a loud vibrating noise when I turn the camera on or off, and when it tries to focus. Sometimes it goes away and the lens works fine, other times, the lens cannot focus. A beercan lens on same body has no issues.
This is a lens problem, the AF motor of the lens is trying to engage the gears. Sometime it works, sometimes it does not... It happened to my sigma 70-300. The only solution is to have it repaired. If under warranty it should be free, if not.... might be cheaper to buy a new lens.
