Question about Refrigerators

Control Board Programming Code

Amana AFB2534DES- freezer is cold, fresh food section not working. Appliance repair guy says the Electronic Temp Assure unit control board needs to be replaced. Two days to order and receive the part. Calls back next day and claims supplier doesn't have in stock and part is backordered for two weeks. I call Amana direct and they tell me part #67006740 is in stock. I order part directly from Amana Next Day Air, part arrives with no receipt or instructions. Call Amana for instructions and they tell me the part does not come with instructions and only an authorized technician has the code. The part is installed but I'm stuck because I don't have the code.

Found the plastic bag, thank you.

The old board was JAZZ11, new board is JAZZ14. The code on the label inside the fridge is 12. Would there be a change in the code because of the different board?
The fridge has been off for a couple of days, is there something that has to be done after the code is programmed into the unit to start it back up?

The code is most likely printed on your model number label located inside the refrig compartment and entering the code instructions are on your tech sheet that is taped to the underside of your refrig.
remove the toe grille and feel under the cabinet for a plastic bag/envelope taped to it. just follow the instr for entering the code..

ps if the code isnt on the model label it may be on the tech sheet..

the only way the code would change is if they put a new code in with the new jazz board. once you get the board programmed its ready to go.

    ok lets start from beginning!

is the fan in the freezer section blowing? if not most likely its a bad fan motor.

so the motor works, lets see if you are getting cold air in the refrig section. in the top of the refrig section in the center is a vent. fell for cold air. the damper that is located behind this vent cover could be bad just remove the vent cover and see if the damper door is closed or open. the cover just pulls off with a little force.

fan is working and damper is open. leaves only 1 thing i can think of. that would be something wrong in defrost system. look for frost build up on the back wall of freezer compartment. if there is frost just follow the instructions on the tech sheet for forcing a def cycle. if the heater comes on then you have a bad jazz board (which shouldnt be now that youve changed it out). no heater then most likely you have a bad def thermostat.

I know thats a lot of stuff to check but if you can replace a jazz board then this is easy stuff.

good luck and let me know how it works out for you

Dave, One other thing you might do since all systems are working. unload the refrig and freezer and let it defrost for 4-5 hours and then restart the unit. this would eliminate the possibility of a frozen cooling coil.

Again I'm sorry I cant help you more.

How To enter programing mode The W10312695 Control Board

Open the fresh food door and hold the fresh food light switch closed while pressing the freezer temperature down key three times in a row. This must be done within 10 seconds.
Release the door switch.
The control will display PE to confirm entry into programming mode.
You need to confirm entry into programming mode by pressing the freezer down key once more.
The control should display zero on both led's.
Set the control to the correct code as shown on the model and serial number sticker in the fresh food section.
This is done by pressing the fresh food up and freezer up buttons until the correct code is displayed.
Once the desired program code is displayed, press the freezer down key until the program code begins flashing.
Once the programming code has been saved the programming mode can be exited by closing the fresh food door.

Fridgidaire refrigerator flashing error code 4

From what I remember a flashing 4 means "damper error". Send your model number found inside or on the outside of the fresh food section, The air damper is found between the freezer and fresh food section and regulates temperature in the fresh food section by opening wide for things that warm up your fresh food section example would be opening the door and letting warm air inside . The damper then closes to keep the right temperature. If you have questions please ask, Thanks Sea Breeze

The food in the refrigerator is freezing. I have had several calls to the repair guy. He changed the control panel but that doesn't seem to help. Now the water dispenser will not work. Any ideas?

this fridge unit isnt well known to me but most follow suit in design. I would say having an electronic board normally refers that there is an auger motor controlling the fridge temperature. As the demand for temp. is needed the electronic sensor will instruct the new board to open and close the auger motor flap accordingly. Possibly the motor is stuck or faulty or the sensor faulty. My bet is to check the auger motor. Call him in again and ask him to check it with you. (Normally mechanical control works with a thermostat whereas an electronic control works with an auger.

Your refrigerator probably has an issue with its "damper control assembly", which regulates cold air coming from the freezer compartment. Contact an appliance service company.

Side-by-Side: Refrigerator will not maintain temp below 50 Deg. Freezer works fine - where is the problem? Model Number MSD2757AE

Your problem may be with:

* the "damper control assembly", which is located in the upper left side of the fresh food compartment. This control regulates the amount of cold air originating from the freezer compartment that enters the fresh food compartment.
* there may be an issue with the "fresh food temperature control assembly"

Check the temperature settings in the fresh food compartment (should be located up front). I recommend the "one-half way mark" for both freezer and fresh food compartments.

Contact an appliance service company.

Freezer and fresh food section are both at room temperature.

How to check everything
http://www.acmehowto.com/howto/appliance/refrigerator/refrigerator.php

If the evaporator coils behind the back panel of the freezer are icing up because of auto defrost failure that will stop the circulation of cold air and eventually affect the freezer too.

check defrost timer, defrost heater, defrost thermostat. In most newer models the timer has been replaced by an electronic control board. If the heater and thermostat are ok it’ll be the control.

My side by side freezer is working fridge wont get cold, compressor is working.

There is a panel, or door if you will, that separates the freezer and fresh food compartments. The freezer temp control determines how much cold air is allowed to escape into the fresh food compartment by opening or closing this panel.

If the panel is restricted from moving (stuck closed, for example), the freezer will get VERY cold while the fresh food compartment will be warm.

Try thoroughly defrosting the refrigerator. Possibly an accumulation of ice is preventing the panel from moving and/or is restricting air flow from the freezer to the fresh food compartment. It's a free fix and may solve your problem altogether.

If that doesn't help, or helps only temporarily, you may have a problem with panel itself or the linkage that connects it to the control mechanism. Unless you're skilled in appliance repair, checking and repairing these components will require a service technician to check and repair these components.

Hope this was helpful. Good Luck.

Bottom of fridge not cooling

The fresh food compartment is cooled by air being blown from the freezer compartment into the fresh food compartment. Something is restricting that air flow which causes your fresh food compartment to stay warm.
