Question about Samsung LN-T4053H 40 in. LCD Television

1 Answer

The tv will not turn on

The tv will attempt to power on but then shuts itself off immediately and will repeat the process several times before finally turning on. This morning, it never got enough power to actually turn on and kept doing this repeatedly.

Look at the power supply first since it is easier to get to, look for burnt parts, bad capacitors, etc.

Samsung TV model LN32A450C1DXZA, after turning the TV on it will turn itself off shortly after and then turn itself back on shortly thereafter. Then it repeats that several times before staying on.

Hi there,

If the tv is still under warranty, this can be repaired at no charge.

However, if not under warranty, you will need to have the CAPACITORS on the main power supply circuit board tested (or replaced).

The capacitors responsible for the power supply can sometimes fail - open the back panel. If the capacitors on the main power supply board look too fat, or signs of burning near the solder joints, then you've found the problem.

Hope this helps.

Cheers,

Scott

My Samsung TV HLS4288W shuts off by itself. When I turn it on it repeats with the same, shuts off. I have to repeat this process several times before the TV finally stays on.

There's a loose connection in the power supply of your television.Try to fix this problem. If you want to do the repair, just open the back cover of your TV and look the power supply.Try to resolder the board of the power supply and check the connector to power supply from the board supply. You can power on the televisions while the back cover is open to see that the power supply is working. Thanks!!

I have a 50inch LG Plasma which is around 3-4 years old and no longer under warranty. When first switching on it immediately switches itself back into standby mode making a loud click whilst doing soon....

You need to remove the back and check the power supply board for bulged electrolytic caps that will need to be replace, or just replace the power supply board.

Sounds power supply board is bad in your TV and most probably replacement of all electrolytic capacitors in power supply board will solve the issue.

Multiple attempts to Turn on the TV

It's common for capacitors on the power supply board to go bad (tops will swell up) and cause the same problem. these new LCD tv's are all very bad when it comes to power surges.

Magnavox 19" TV shuts itself off.....won't stay on

I had a similar problem with my Phillips 42 in. LCD HD TV.

Here's the problem. The Power Supply Board. I opened my TV up(warranty was up of course) and found several bad capacitors. Phillips and several other companies were sold capacitors that although were highly rated failed within 5 years because of a lack of preservatives. All sorts of electronic equipment is now being effected due to these defective capacitors.
Solutions?
1. Take it in and have it fixed
2. Open it up, check the board for faulty capacitors(bulged or leaking) Buy a new Power supply board and install it.
3. Remove PSB, remove faulty capacitors and replace with compatible new ones.

Hope this helps

Magnavox # 37MF231D

that depends on the value of the television and the cost of replacing the power supply and connections.
Most likely you have a short in your power supply or other connections causing the tv to protect itself by shutting down. You can check with our Repair Service lookup icon for a repair service near you.
Before you call them you may try unplugging your unit for 30 minutes or so and plugging it back in.
