Question about Epson Stylus Multifunction Inkjet Printer/ Copier/ Scanner

I want to know how to scan and upload receipts to e mail . I have just been given the printer as a present and can't find instructions on how to scan receipts and then send copies via e mail.

My MX870 is working fine. I can print and scan from the PC without any issues. However, I used to be able to scan receipts right from within my Quicken Home and Office software. What's really strange...


If it's viewing them, you should be able to save them to a file (should be doing this) - then uploading them into Quicken. It sounds like what you're saying is you used to be able to scan them directly using Quicken and now you cannot, and are having to use a different program.
Open Quicken and go into the file menu and look for "setup" or "options", "print options" "scan", words like that. There are way for setting, resetting these options, and you will need to locate this. I apolgize, as I am not directly familiar with Quicken itself, but with all other programs that have documenting, printing, and scanning options, they are all basically the same.

How do i email a document when i have scanned it?


Make sure you know where the scanned document was saved to on your computer. Normally by default it is in My Documents -> My Pictures -> My scans. Then open your e-mail account, choose a new message and click on Attach. From there it'll prompt you to "browse" to the location of the document, once you point it in the right place, you basically hit OK and it'll upload it to the e-mail as an attachment. From there you can write your message and send it off.

Remove virus from account


1. Open Yahoo Mail. Use your Yahoo! user ID and password to sign in to Yahoo Mail. Open the email message suspected of containing a virus.
2. Find attachments. The attached files are in the header section above the body of the email. The names of the attachments will appear as blue, active hyperlinks, taking on the actual saved file name given by the sender.
3.Initiate automatic virus scanning and cleaning. Look for another link labeled "Scan and Download Attachment" and click it. If this link does not show, you may have to click directly on the attachment's file name. Look for the alert "Scanning attachment for viruses." The alert may appear for less than a second, dependent upon the size of the file; if you miss the brief message it is not important.
4. Wait and read results. After the virus scan completes, if no virus is detected, you will be given the go-ahead to download the attachment. If a virus is detected, Yahoo Mail will try to automatically clean the attachment, and then present the option to download.
Hopefully, it may help to protect your Email account.

I have a c6280 hp printer. It seems to scan the doc but it will not go to my e-mail to send out. I have gotten written instructions from hp solutions. Still can't get it. I have even gotten my...


What OS and e-mail program are you using? Do you have the scan monitor program running (to hear the scan button activity)? I'll assume you have the full software installed and have set the Scan to E-mail destination in the HP Solution Center. The problem may be in the call to send the document via MAPI (mail application program interface). I know with Thunderbird 3, this occurred when the application sending the file to e-mail used the "senddoc" instead of "sendmail" function. (Earlier versions of Thunderbird handled the call properly).

I wish I could be of more help but I need more information.

I myself would just scan the one first and send it to your PC and then scan the other part and send it to your pc and then just copy the first 1 in to the Microsoft word program and then copy the second one and past it into first under it so it becomes as 1 then upload it to your email and send, this is what I do.
Or of cause you can upload 1 first to your email then upload the other one to your email and send.

I don't know how to upload a picure from my printer by scanning it.


Get the picture scanned and saved(preferrably on the desktop). Ofcourse a unique name must be given to the file for identification. open your mail box and click Attach - Browse - to locate the picture and Upload/Attach same. Click done and send to your choice of destination by typing the email address. For instant messaging, you have to go through your Profile to upload so that it becomes available for friends to view. How to scan documents then email them


To scan and send the documents via. e-mail. First of all you must run the setup from the cannon cd (comes with printer), use full installation (recommended option) complete the installation.

If this is already done then :-
1] Put the document that you want to scan in the scanner,

2]Open "control panel" and open "scanners and cameras" folder. (switch to classic view if needed)

3]Switch on the printer (if it's on only then proceed to next step)

4]You will see your scanner icon (if necessary refresh the screen)

5]Open it and click "next"

6] (OPTIONAL) Select scan image type.

7]Click "next".

8]Choose a place to save your image.(default is my pictures)

9]Click "next"

10]and now image scan starts, at last click on finished.

11]Now open your e-mail account, choose "compose mail" fill in the details

12]now select "browse" (for gmail) or select upload file

13]select the address of the image where you saved it (default my pictures)

14]click ok.(you can only upload 1 file at a time)

15]send the mail. !!

16]Thus, you can send image by scanning like as stated above .
