This tutorial will show you how to check your Zanussi element and how to replace your Zanussi cooker element.
Here are the 3 main faults to look for in your oven or cooker that is not heating
Your oven will not work until the clock/timer has been re-set after replacing an oven element or tripping the electrical supply. Consult your Zanussi manual.
If you're Oven is not getting hot or heating up it could be a faulty element, if the fan in the oven is running and the thermostat light is on, this will lead us to believe that the element has gone faulty. With grills the thermostat light should come on there should be heat, if not then this could be the grill element or the thermostat.
When you turn the oven on, the household electrical supply trips on the Rcd (this is the earth trip in the fuse board sometimes called the breaker tripping) your fan oven element has gone to earth and needs replacing.
i would first check that your timer is not set to auto if it is switch off cooker at mains wait 5 seconds then switch on and set time, if this is not the problem it sounds like the overheat cut-out located at the back of the oven cavity is at fault.
It sounds like the oven is not working as the electronic timer is in auto. mode. It must be in maunal mode for manual oven operation. Turn the oven on. Muck around with the buttons on the timer and try all different combinations. This may take 5 minutes or more. When you do hit the manual mode the oven indicator light will come on and the oven will work.
power to the main oven has to go through the oven clock if time is not set main oven will not work also if clock set on auto time rather than manual oven will not work conversley if clock is faulty it will not work top oven is unaffected as oven clock auto timer cannot be used on top oven.try resetting power of and on again reset time on clock if clock not faulty oven will now work.
Hi. You probably have to switch the oven onto manual control. Auto would turn oven on at a preset time. Is there a button with a hand symbol on it? This might be manual. Timer should show clock when in normal manual operation.
For TOuch Control oven: 1. Press Finish Time touch pad 2.press ^ touch pad until clock displays the required am or pm finish time. 3. Press Cook Period touch pad. 4. Adjust the cooking time as in step 2, using up and down arrow touch pads. (hours and minutes needed to cook food) 5. Press Automatic touch pad. Press Fan touch pad to select fan speed. Red indicating light shows normal speed. 7. Turn oven thermostat to desired setting. 8. Press Keep Warm touch pad if keep warm function is required at end of cooking. 9. At end of cooking time a buzzer will sound for 1 minute and the KEEP WARM cycle will now operate until the meal is ready to be served. 10. To cancel the Automatic cycle, press Manual touch pad and turn oven thermostat off.
For Multifunction oven: 1. Set time of day. 2. Turn Function switch to Finish. 0.00 will be displayed. 3. Turn display switch + to give the required am or pm finish time. (an illuminated bar in the bottom left corner indicates when the clock display is pm). 4. Turn Function switch to Cook then turn Display switch to + till desired cooking period is displayed (hours and minutes needed to cook food) 5. Turn Function switch to Auto. The automatic programme is now ready to use. Turn upper oven thermostat to desired setting. If keep warm function is required, turn function switch to Cook (optional)
1. Set the oven to the required temperature. 2. Press the g button. 3. Set the total cooking time with the + button (see the example in the illustration right, showing 1 hour and 30 minutes). 4. Press the h button. 5. Set the cooking finish time with the + button (the example in the illustration shows 12.30 hrs.). After setting the display shows the time of day and indicates »AUTO«. ❑ The oven cooling fan will start immediatley. ❑ At the pre-set time, the oven will be automatically switched ON. ❑ The settings can be corrected at any time. ❑ When the pre-set cooking finish time is reached, a signal sounds and the oven is automatically switched OFF. To turn the signal off, briefly press the h button. 6. Turn the oven selector switch to the 0 position. 7. The »AUTO« symbol blinks. Important: It must be switched OFF by pressing the E button.
I had the same problem. I went to the manual and it is very easy to fix. The oven control lockout was somehow set. To cnacel it just press the Cook Time and the Stop Time buttons at the same time for 4 seconds. The "off' will appear briefly and then disappear. It worked for me. Good Luck!
