I hope I can help you with your issue ,

Your TV would need a seperate tuner box if you are using an antenna. If using cable it just doesn't matter because digital signals received on cable can be recieved by any TV.
You can use a DVD/VCR that has a Digital ATSC tuner
see here it says HDTV-Ready - Requires separate receiver to view HDTV signals.

HOW DO I RETUNE AFTER DIGITAL SWITCHOVER

You can do this at any time but after Digital Switchover you'll lose all Analogue Channels.

I have tried digital switchover a few times but still get message on screen informing of switchover. Also when turned on first time message say new DVB programmes available pres YES>NO
This unit only has a digital tuner so you can ignore switchover message (intended for analogue viewers only).

The converter boxes can hook right up to any vcr on the antennae in jack. They work just the same. I like using vcrs because you can hook up anything to them and then run it to tv. It's great!
