Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

On start up the screen will flash running Windows Vista Home Premium 32 bit on Dell Inspiron 1420

Try to change the resolution of your computer to lower, restart the computer and see if the problem still exist. if the problem still exist try to reinstall the video driver of your computer. don't rewrite the driver of the video device, uninstall the driver then install again. if any thing happens feel to reply. Install the latest touchpad driver from support.dell.com

There is a setting in the touchpad tab of the mouse driver. Either Enable PalmCheck or Disable touchpad when typing (Depends on Synaptics or Alps drive I believe)

With palmcheck enabled, the touchpad is disabled when typing

Dell Inspirion 1521 Laptop Microphone Wont Work

checklist:
1. sound driver 2. microphone settings in volume control applet 3. tap test (tap the area around the microphone and see if eg Sound Recorder picks it up) 4. external microphone
If you get to step 4 before you get anything then your problem is one of missing or damaged microphone.
