Do you have the cord plugged into the computer? is there a switch on the back near the power supply? if so, is it on? is the large connector from the power supply tightly latched to the mother board? (unplug the computer before you check this!) any fans running? plug a lamp into the outlet and see if it has power! could be a popped breaker, or blown fuse.if you feel confident of your skill, remove the power supply, open it up and see if it has a fuse that may be blown. if so, replace it with a fuse of the same type (size & amperage). if the fuse was blown, and you re-install the power supply and it blows again, then you have a problem (probably) with the power supply, and if cost effective, it needs replacing! get a compatible power supply with a higher power rating, if you can! more power for your peripherals!
good luck!

There is no sound or display on my amp but it is getting power because my tuner is pluged in the back and it works

It is possible that you have a blown internal fuse as I think that the AC tuner power outlet is simply jumpered to the main input power to your amp.

I pluged in the power supply and nothing is happening. The small yellow batery icon came on near the screen and nothing else is happening

Hi,

Remove the mains power lead and then take out the battery. Hold down the on/off button for 30 seconds to dispel any residual power.

Plug in just the mains lead (AC adapter) and see if the machine will boot on mains power only. If it does let it boot up and then shut it down again. Remove AC and reinsert the battery, plug in AC power again and see if it will boot with the battery in.

If it boots up the problem is sorted, if not then there is a problem with battery so you would have to use it on AC only until you find a replacement battery.

Please post back if need anymore help.

Good luck and regards.

Compaq presarios s5500uk wont boot up fitted new motherboard, pentium e5200 processor. existing hard drive ide seagate barracuda 7200.7 120 gbytes os windows xp

check the power supply: unplug the main connector from the motherboard, plug in the ac/mains power cord and switch on the on/off switch if any located on the power supply, locate the GREEN wire on the main connector that plugs on the motherboard, using a small length of wire insert one end into the plug where the GREEN wire is located and the other end into a BLACK wire on the connector. the power supply should power on if it is good: you will see and hear the fan turn on in the power supply. if it is good remove the wire and re-plug it.if it is not good replace the power supply. also check that the 110/220vac swithch is in the correct position for your mains voltage.do you have a floppy drive connected to the system? if so un-plug it and try again,re-check that you pluged the power button switch connector on the mainboard correctly,

No power

You need to verify that the power supply is stilll working. Get a volt meter and set to DC Volts and verfiy plug end. See power supply to know what voltage it should be.

Comapq and HP laptops like yours also has problems witht he pluf in the rear of the laptop to seperate from the motherboard and will not allow any DC voltage in. It can be replaced but you will need to buy a new femail power plug and take your unit apart.

Lighting came into my computer via the ethernet cable. can this be fixed I also think it took out my power supply un it. It is a gateway 500c.

If only power supply's affected, then change the SMPS with a compatible one of the same rating. But first check the monitor by connecting to the mains power supply with the video chord not attached to anything. if the monitor displays "no videos" signal, then the monitor is OK cange the SMPS of the CPU and check UPS & spike boards fuses, otherwise commect to main power supply pluf(Wall 3-pin outlet socket)......sodeep

Is there an update or upgrade I can download for the x2gen monitor?

Sweetsooziep,

Check your AC Adapter, see if it still lite green. If AC Adapter working fine... Then it's your backlight inverter need to be replaced. Wanna saved $$$ and repaired yourself??? Then followed these simple tips... Need to tested your capacitors for leaked or burnt out.. One way to checked...it to look for a pluffed on top of the caps. If it has a pluffed replaced those caps. Not sure....just replaced all the caps....Hehehe... Good lucks!
