How to put a raw plug into a plaster wall?

It's actually quite easy, but a few simple rules need to be followed. The drill size will depend on the size of the plug to be used. The type of drill bit will depend on whether it is a wall with plaster on it or plasterboard, which will have a cavity behind it. If it is a solid wall, use a masonry drill, on hammer setting if you have it. For a plasterboard wall a wood or HSS drill bit will do the job. Once you have drilled the hole, push plug in as far as you can, then tap it flush with a hammer. Job done.

Do all sds drills have chisel function?

The SDS designation relates more to the type of chuck on the tool for the bits than to the tool/drill itself. There are both chisels and drill bits with SDS-Plus and SDS-Max shanks, SDS-Max being the the larger of the two. As far as the tools go: Demolition hammers will only hammer and can only use pointed chisels, scaling chisels, scrapers, etc, not anything like a drill bit that requires spinning to work. Rotary hammers can hammer and rotate the bits. Rotary hammers have a selector switch with two or three positions; one for hammer only for the above demolition bits, one for rotary hammer for use with carbite tipped drill bits, and some have a position for rotation only. The rotary hammer is a more versitile tool but more expensive because of extra workings inside.

My hilti te-75 drills but is not hammering or will not go into chisel mode whay coud be the problem with it

Have seen this problem with some 'none' HILTI bits which do not fit correctly into the SDS chuck.
Tends to be with larger drill bits which have a wider shank than the SDS connector, the wider shank hits the end of the drill nose which stops the end of the drill bit contacting with the internal hammer.
Solution is to purchase original bits from Hilti. If you have OEM bits and chisel it will be another problem. Hope this helps.

It won't rotate. It only hammers.

The 11316 Demolition Hammer is made to hammer only, it does not rotate the bit. It is for demolition with pointed bits or flat and scraping chisels. If you want to drill holes in cement you need a rotary hammer drill.

How do you remove wall tiles

Follow following steps -

1.Decide where to remove the grout
2. Scrape the grout away with a utility knife
3.Try a rotary grinder instead.
4.Remove grout until the spacer lugs are visible.
5.Chisel tiles away from the wall.
6.Break the tile if necessary.

If the tiles are grouted, you will have to clear the grout away first. There are inexpensive tools designed specifically for grout removal. After removing the grout, use a small pry bar or a similar tool to pry the tiles away from the wall. Most likely, though, if the tiles were installed onto drywall, the drywall will be damaged during removal. Fortunately, drywall is relatively easy to replace. Once the drywall surface is ready, new tiles can be attached with tile adhesive or mastic. Regrout and seal the tile around the new tiles. *If the new tiles are natural stone they will be very porous and will need to be sealed and dry BEFORE installation.

I can't remove the chuck bit from my hammer drill PBH 2000 re

This is normally easy procedure, just press chuck inward and turn clockwise, then retrieve.

This is same way as you will insert/remove your drill from the chuck.

If this method is unsuccessfull, plese rotate knob (close to chuck) anticlockwise till you go to position between chiseling and driling, as this is not lockable position, you need to hold knob in one hand and manipulate chuck with other hand.

This method is described in more detail in manual which comes with hammer-drill.

Hope this solve your problem, this is excellent tool and I always love to use it. Will handle drill up to 20mm in concrete and not even much vibration.

How to disassemble a te 60 , the chuck end. Its not worth sending to factory but i might tackle it myself it does not hammer all the time and does not rotate all the time

Hilti no longer services the old TE60. If yours is a metal housing here is how you disassenble the front end.First you need to put a flat bladed chisel in the chuck. Then lock the chisel in a vise. Next you put a pipe wrench on the chuck cap nut. That is the piece on the end of the chuck. Using a cheater bar turn the nut off counter clock wise. You then can remove your chisel, the cap nut, an oring and the locking sleeve with two rollers. This will expose the chuck that is held in place with 8 5mm allen screws. After that you have a large snap ring to remove before pulling out the rest of the front end assy.

Stuck chisel

if you have access to a vise I would lock the chisel in it and pull on the release collar and then take a dead blow hammer and "tap" on the drill to try and pull it away from the chisel.

Sheared Bolt Head on Boat Propeller Housing

need more detailed info like year make model bolt location? the reason, I would know how long and wide the bolt is that is broken off. Typically when a bolt gets broken you have several steps to follow and two tools to purchase to get broken bolt out. 1st The best tools to purchase and will save you a lot of headache is a reverse drill bit kit with easy outs. They are expensive but well worth the cost. With every drill bit the kit will have a easy out to match. I myself have a large kit that I use weekly because of salt water engines. Make sure you get a high quality set (snap-on, mac tool etc..) because if it breaks off you have double the work. 2nd small chisel pick and punches. (1) Take a center punch and hammer and dent the bolt for a starting point for your drill bit. (2)Again if I knew the location of the bolt I would know how big it is. Because you have to stop drilling at a certain depth so you don’t drill into the case. If you have another bolt you have taken out of the case that you believe is the same length, measure it and drill only half the length of the bolt. (3)You want a small drill bit to start, about half the size of the Circumference of the bolt. Remember these are reverse drill bits so put your drill in reverse and go very slow with light pressure. Let the Drill bit do the work. (4) use a spray lubricate like WD-40 to keep the drill bit and bolt cool, to much heat will dull you drill bit. These bolts are stainless steel so it will be a long time before you get a decent hole. (5) What I hope happens, when I’m using the drill bit is that the drill bit catches enough of the bolt and turns it out as I’m drilling. But with rusted bolts it’s a rare occasion . When you come to the stopping point of your hole clean it out and use the easy out that comes with the kit. You do not want to break the easy out in the hole so use light turning pressure. If it doesn’t come out with light pressure You need to stop and go to the next step.(6) Take the next size drill bit out of the case and start drilling again slowly with lubricant. When you reach the stopping point use the matching easy out.(7) keep following these steps until you get almost to the full diameter of the bolt. Remember bolt threads are male to a female thread inside the hole so you don’t want to drill out the threads inside the hole. (8) if you reach the female thread inside the hole and the bolt still hasn’t come out use the chisel pick softly to clean the tread inside the hole. At this point you will need to purchase one more tool. A thread tap. Take a matching bolt and match diameter and thread pitch and clean out the treads that may have been damaged with the chisel pick.(9) when the job is finally done and your ready to put the housing back on use as gasket sealing compound on all your bolt to protect them from rust do not use thread locking compounds. Have fun.
