Question about Canon BJC-85 InkJet Printer
I have a Canon BJC-85 which continually self-cleans. Often it is so busy cleaning that it ignores the power-off key on the front panel. Power off from the software seems okay. Printing is slow to start but them okay. Print quality is great

My 1st brand new cartridge and ink tanks did not work. I took them out and put in my other new ink cartridge and ink tanks, and now it works fine.

Try to run the head cleaning utility of your printer. The printer cartridges may be clogged and this can easily be resolved by at least a couple of runs on the head cleaning utility.

You most likely have a failed printhead and the head will need replacing. Alternatively your ink system assy is not pruging the head and thus faulty and may need replacing. If the unit is under canon warranty, take it to your local canon service centre with your proof or purchase. If not you can try to run a few cleans, but in my experience this will not help if the head or ink system is at all faulty.
