The other way to fix it, you need to disassemble your laptop if you've familiar the unit. Usually the HDD has not been attach check the HDD cable (SATA or IDE) replace it. On other hand if the same things happen and you don't have windows CD, it's time to buy an windows CD installer. Reformat your unit to fix the problem.

Good luck!

Hi,

You can restore the computer back to factory default,to do so, follow the below steps: Turn OFF the computer, now as soon as you hit the power button, keep on holding "Alt" key & keep on tapping "F10" key, i.e Alt+f10, it will open the recovery console, select full factory restore and follow onscreen instruction. NOTE: This will erase all the datas on the computer.

You can also create a set to Recovery disk from the recovery partition, to do so

Acer Aspire X1700 Desktop Wont Start up Shut down with blue Protection screen

That's Blue Screen of Death. Start up ur pc in safemode by pressing F8 key while booting and uninstall any recent hardware or software installations. Or try System Restore to an earlier date. If u failed to boot up ur pc even in Safemode, make a clean and fresh OS installation.

Blank screen

hit ctrl alt del at the same time, when the task manager comes up, click on the applications tab...Then choose "new task" type explorer.exe into the box, this will launch windows explorer which is your desktop. If this does not work, type f8 at startup and boot into safemode. In safemode, choose start, then run and then type in chkdsk then restart the computer and let the check disk command process.

Acer aspire 3610

When you turn on the pc keep pressing F8 until it boots into safe mode. when in safe mode look in the list for 'Last Known Good Configuration' and select the line with the up/down arrows on keyboard and press enter. the pc should then reboot back into windows, if not and you still get the flashing cursor, then there is a boot.ini file fault where the sysstem cannot find the c:\ volume to start windows, and you will need to borrow a copy of windows to do a system repair.
