Have you tried rocking the cartridges from front to back to evenly distrbute the toner? If you tip the printer to clear a papre jam, the toner in the cartridge will often clump and cause a false error message.
There is an uninstall utility on the brother site. Windows usually will not properly uninstall the brother drivers. Use the uninstall utility, reinstall the printer, and see if the Win 7 problem is gone.
I find that windows 7 prefers to download it's own drivers.
If you installed any drivers, uninstall them, unplug the USB of the printer and reboot. When you get back into windows plug back in the USB cable to your printer You will see "found new hardware" This time you want to let Windows to go online and download the drivers for you.
Please come back and just gave a vote, it will gave me some satisfaction to know am helping some one so I will keep on helping. Thank you
hi!!! in that kind of problem maybe the sensor of the cartridge was damage thats why the sensor cannot detect when you install the cartridge. Try another cartridge or maybe try the to re-install old one if the printer detect the old cartridge that means the new cartridge was defective. Thanks
If you cant install from CD, Plug in your printer to the laptop, It should detect new hardware, If it's drivers your looking for it's easy enough to go to Device Manager and press update driver, If that doesnt workgo to the brother website and download drivers from there.
Brother should also have an online installer. Check out their website :)
