Washer stops during normal wash cycle for a minute or more, and then continues. Would replacing the timer fix it?

If it actually goes on and finishes the cycle and that really bothers you replace it. If not leave it alone and allow a little more time to complete its cycle. The lid switch only keeps the spin cycle from going with the top open.

My washer keeps giving me a F-21 message! It won't kick into rinse or spin, but just gives me this message?

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,

Whirlpool's 'F21' (along with 16, 18, 20 and 22) stands for 'control unit failure' requiring a service engineer's attention I suggest. Sorry ;-0(

If this has assisted and/or clarified the situation for you please consider a 4 thumbs up on our rating.
Thanks and good luck!

My washer stops after rinse and kicks out will not spin

You have a bad motor. Your motor turns in ine direction to wash and the other direction to pump and to spin. Sorry.

Whirlpool Washer stalls out on rinse cycle

This is likely a lid switch problem. They tend to get weak and work sometimes and sometimes not. When it stalls like that try pushing down on lid and see if it kicks in. If so you need to replace the lid switch
