The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Good luck!

PHILIPS DVD player 616K, how to change region or get into right region. my player was working OK. Suddenly it stopped functioning and showed/diplayed '' wrong region'' on the TV screen.

Changing the region code for DVD616K :

1. Press OPEN/CLOSE, and wait for the tray to open.

2. Use the remote control to input digital key '1', '1', '1', '0' in that order

if that dont work go 1, 1 1, 1 in that
Kindly leave a few seconds between each entry, the microprocessor is slow
with these entries.
3. Press number '7', '8' or '9' to display the current region code of the DVD

6. The region setting will be saved in the FLASH memory.
7. Press OPEN/CLOSE again, the DVD player will return to normal operation.

Multi region dvd not playing region 1

Two issues: if it isn't playing Region 1 discs, then that particular player was designed for use outiside of the US. It is illegal to change the region code, so I would call Philips and get a replacement. But, if you want, there are YouTube videos that show you how to unlock the code - it can only be used 3 times and then it locks up permanently.

Second issue: if it won't play NTSC DVD's, go into the menu and take it off of PAL - if it is stuck on PAL, then that player was definitely designed for outside the US. Call Philips and get a replacement.

The PET940 is the general model number - afterwards is a country code - if it doesn't say PET940/17 or PET940/37, then it is a non-US player.

WRONG Region error . Philips DVD65K

Each DVD player is designed only to read discs froma certian region of the globe, and they are labelled 1 through 6 (or ALL). Australian players are designed only to play Region 4 discs. United States discs are Region 1. It is illegal to change the Region code on a DVD player, so I can't tell you how to do it (ironically, it is the most frequently asked question about dvd players on - global world), but there are videos on YouTube that will show you how to do it - I would just enter "philips region code dvd" as your seacrh term. You won't find that exact model, but one of the codes in the video should work. Note that you will only be able to change the region code three times on a Philips - after that you will be locked out. So change it to Region 1 once, and never change it again.

Philips 7" DVD portable player

The PET702 will be a region 5 machine, whereas the UK DVDs are region 2.

DVD players from a particular region are designed to play only DVDs from the same region, due to copyright and distribution rights in each country or region.

However the PET702 can have the region protection removed by making it multi-region:

Switch on the PET702 and Open the tray.

Press SETUP button on the remote control, which will bring up the menu.

Highlight "PREFERENCES" and press OK.
Press [2], [5], [2], [3], [1], [5], [LEFT], [DOWN]

The screen will show: "Region Code: 2"
Press [1-6] to manually set the region OR [0] for multi-region.
Press [SETUP] to exit winksmiley.gif

You will now be able to play DVDs from anywhere in the world.

This is particularly useful, because region 1 DVDs from the US often come out when the movies are still in the cinemas over here. Region 1 DVDs can be bought perfectly legally by mail order or from the internet.
