We had the same problem. We had some tough epoxy that we squirted into the bolt holes, then screwed the bolts in. It took two of us, one to hold the door together and one to screw in the bolts. We didn't use the oven until the epoxy set, but now we no longer have a problem with the door falling apart every time we open the oven door!

Front panel on range came apart

Buy some Loctite threadlocker and put some on the screws that are coming loose. It is like a liquid plastic that prevents screws, bolts from coming loose. It stays rubbery so you can take the bolts out if you need to.

Oven door handle is loose on Model RF366BXD self cleaning range, how do we tighten the door handle?

Extend your door hinges and remove entirely over to a table or other flat surface where you can do a step-by-step dis-assembly. Unfortunately, to get at the interior of the handle unit, it's the final stage of the taking apart. Begin by removing the bolts at the bottom of the door, then the main panel and side flanges can be removed. (You can give your glass a good cleaning at this point also.) There are 2 bolts to remove to free up the handle unit, and now you can easily tighten (or replace as needed) the 2 pairs of handle bolts. Reverse your order to re-assemble, and put your door back on the oven. It's not as bad an exercise as it would appear. Just take your time and watch what you're doing. I used the hinges as a shim, and had it laid out on a pool table for easy, elevated examination.

Husband removed oven door when fully open instead of when 1/4 open as the manual suggests, now the door clicks a couple times as it is nearly closed, model number 95592 Kenmore electric smoothtop range...

Try removing and refitting it a few times otherwise you will probably have to get new door latching mechanisms. You may just be lucky that they have been dislodged but they are most likely to have been broken. The clicking is the door interlock mechanism trying to lock and unless it succeeds the oven will not work.

Range door will not seal properly.

Place a hammer handle between the door and the frame at the hinges..
Push on the door, carefully.
This usually works to re-seat the door hinges.

Exterior glass trim on Kenmore Electric Range 880-5981

While waiting for someone else to answer my question, I fiddled around with the door parts. I managed to reassemble them! Here's how:

1. start with the glass panel. Slide the glass panel into the slot at the bottom of the front door frame on the stove.

2. next attach the handle. There are slots on the bottom of the handle that fit into the top of the glass panel. Slide the handle slots into the top of the glass panel.

3. screw the handle onto the oven door using the predrilled holes on the inside face of the oven door.

4. last, attach each of the two side trim strips. Slide the top of each strip into the bottom of the handle on each side of the oven door. Then slightly bend the strip outwards so that they are short enough to fit into the bottom slot of the oven door frame on each side of the glass panel.

Kenmore Electric Range - Door handle

I had the same problem with my stove. I tried to replace, glue the srews and other things, but nothing really worked well. It's a shame that Kennmore has such a design flaw in their stoves, but did nothing to help their customers.

Here is the solution that worked for me:

Fix the thread with helicoils (these are inserts that create a new threat in the handle). You can find the instructions how to use the helicoils on Youtube.
I replaced the crews with new screws that fit to the helicoil threat and now the handle is safely secured.

Handle on oven door falling

Murray...after a DJ here in NY from the '60's!

First, why is the handle falling off? Is it loose or damaged? Most of these handles are only plastic with holes tapped in. If the holes are damaged and you can't fix them, you will have to replace. Most handles are through bolted in the door. You should be able to access those screws from the inside of the door. If not....

How do take a door apart: First locate any screws in the bottom of the door. Remove them. Open the door and remove screws from the sides and inside of door. Get help supporting the outside of the door and note that it will snap shut when you remove any weight from the door. Caution, most door glass is not well clipped in...it may come loose!!!! You may want to take pictures of the inside of the door once you open it. Once the door is apart, locate any fasteners holding the handle and attempt to tighten them. If not successful, you'll need that new handle. Get an extra set of hands to help with removal and reinstallation of that door skin. You'll need 'em!

A hinge bolt/screw may have loosened to allow the door to be out of alignment. Maybe try to flex the door side to side and look for movement to isolate which bolt/screws may be loose.
