Are you asking about Windows Media Center, Windows Media Player or what is it in particular that you are trying to install?

Create a bartpe image using the pebuilder.Burn the image to the cd and boot using the new cd. Once you boot into it open the A43 file management utility to navigate to the folder where you have the xp installation files. and start the setup

Hello my Hp Pavilion dv5215us is having some problems. When I turn it on it says PXE and something about LAN. so I checked online and I was told to change the Boot Order but im not sure how to do that...

F1 or F2 key to access bios. Then go into the tab that says boot order and set the boot devices as:
1.) Optical drive
2.) HDD
3.) whatever is left

If you are getting the PXE message though, it indicates that the laptop is not finding a boot record. You need to check if there is a working hard drive fitted, whether it needs windows re-installing (or repairing) and whether it is even appearing in the bios as a device.

If it is , you should try to install windows from the CD disc, if the boot order is set to CD first, it will prompt you to press a key to boot from CD, after that (and if windows was installed on the hard drive) run it till it finds the previous installation of the OS and repair it via the installation cd

Computer wont install windows strange problems ensue.

are you pressing any key to boot from the cd when you get that message??

after windows finishes copying all the installation files during the first stage (dos mode) of the os installation you get a reboot, after the reboot, you should get that message that says press any key to boot from the cd, DON'T PRESS ANY KEY (or you will start again), leave it cd in.. just don't press any key... hopefully the installation process will continue on it's own onto the next stage (graphical mode).

if the computer just goes back to the dos mode without you pressing anything the problem may actually be a real problem and it may require further troubleshooting..

see how that goes with the first suggestion and post back if needed.

good luck

try to boot the computer using cd. like you trying to install windows. if it read the cd to get into the windows setup, then cd drive is good.

1st make sure you set the option boot from cd first in the bios.
2nd place a windows setup into the drive.
3rd save and exit the bios.
4th if it ask you to press any key to enter setup then the cd drive is good.

maybe u have a windows problem, try to reinstall windows, that the easy way.

Is there a website where i can download a recovery hp pavilion zv5000 disk

If you have a Windows Xp CD and your laptop has the serial no. then
1. Insert the CD in CD-Rom and follow the instruction to install the Windows XP.
2. Once you installed the XP, try to get connect with internet, most of the time the LAN drivers installed, plug the Ethernet wire with your computer go to the browser.
3. type www.hp.com
4. Click Support & Drivers
5. Select Download Drivers and type your product no.
6. Install each component Sound, VGA, Wireless from the list.

This is the simple way to recover your computer without recovery CD. for this you dont have to be technical but smart to choose the steps. Good Luck. Amir

Problem with window media center installation ?

Hi there
Even if you changed the computers name chances are that won't sort the problem, it sounds to me like a bad install in the first place. I would go with the re-install of the operating system.
You can call your computer whatever you want most people use their name, for example "yourname-PC".
Make sure that the disk and the lens is clean.

Good luck and thanks for using Fixya!!!
