your IC ? if its an IC its a chip located on the motherboard and you cant replace it , well not unless ur a tech, sounds like interference from something being generated nearby...try moving the laptop to another room for a few minutes and see if it still does it....if it does then possibly all you need is to update your video drivers for the screen and adapter. Have you installed any games or graphic programs on it lately? sometimes they mess with your drivers by trying to install their own and this could cause video problems. You may also want to try using system restore and restore the system to a time before you had problems.

SOURCE: LCD TV SCREEN PROBLEM RED HORIZONTAL LINES OF DOTS ALL OVER SCREEN PLEASE HELP

I unplugged the TV and now the picture is back.I read that the LCD's are vunerable to static build up so unless my daughter is using her TV I unplug it.

I was thinking about getting a large LCD for the family room but I'm not going to until they improve on this technology.

Good luck to everyone!.

Cheers.

SOURCE: about neo laptop

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Offhand, it does not sound like an LCD issue. If it were, the horizontal lines would be consistent no matter what angle. I am inclined to think more on cable/connector problem. All that is required is to re-seat the connector, arrange the how the flex cable is laid out and ensure that all terminals are connecting right. While this is relatively an easy/quick repair, it would be to your friend's disadvantage if a third party would physically work on the laptop. The laptop has to be opened to expose the connectors/cable. Doing so would void the warranty.

Good luck and thank you for using FixYa.

SOURCE: LCD TV SCREEN PROBLEM RED HORIZONTAL LINES OF DOTS ALL OVER SCREEN PLEASE HELP

This should be repairable. It may be the LVDS Cable or the Main board problem. The only other problem is the T-Con Board.

Horizontal lines showing behind tv menu

Hello,
Normally the menu is generated in the LCD Control Unit. If your menu looks good, but the defect is behind the menu, I would suspect the Main PCB. Good luck to you. Part# is DUNTKD934FM01-V1.

hi,
if your cam is equipped with a viewfinder how the picture show, if clear, the LCD is faulty, if in both screens the line appears there may be problem in the circuit, the capacitor on the board must be tested, if it is weak the ripples will appear on screen.

Probably the problem comes up with two different reasons. 1st is Horizontal control section in LCD may failed or in irrecoverable situation. 2nd is display drivers crashed or not supporting the laptop.

Horizontal lines on screen HPCQ509

Lines on the screen are usually caused by a hardware malfunction in either the lcd, lcd cable or the GPU.

Do the lines appear immediately after power up the computer? Or only when Windows starts?

Can you hook the laptop up to an external monitor to test?

How long have you owned this laptop?

What can cause a single red line to appear on my laptop LCD screen? It's a small/fine red line appear horizontally (left to right) It's NOT radio interference, back light, broken ribbon cable,or connector...

Thats a generic problem with LCD screens. Its more common in Mobile screens. Sorry, no there is no fix to it other than replacing the LCD itself. Just pray that it shall not grow because as and when the compressed gas from within the LCD will leak the line will be becoming broader and broader. It is caused by damage to the LCD corner Just a hit on side of LCD and a hairline crack for giving way to the encapsulated gas.

Laptop screen

Hi,

Based on your description, it would appear that your laptop has a defective LCD display screen. This is normally replaceable. In some instances, it could just be a loose connection on the LCD interface/board.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information. Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.
