The timer will almost certainly be the problem. Very possible the timer drive motor is faulty. Spares for whirlpool are difficult enough to obtain, so i would suggest a new timer as it would be easier to get than a timer motor.Very easy to replace as the timer is normally modulated. (pull wiring plugs out then simply push back in onto new timer).

Element heats, dryer tumbles, no heat in drum, never shuts off

Hi, If the dryer heats but will not advance in either time or auto cycles, you need to change the timer.
You can test to see if the timer is getting voltage. Remove the top rear panel and locate the two wires going to the timer motor. There should be 120V when the dryer is running in time dry.
Please let me know if this helps or if I can assist you further.

Thanks
Vic

Whirpool dryer won't heat up

You need to replace the thermal fuse and the timer. A bad timer will over draw a thermal fuse and cause it to blow.

Please remember to unplug the dryer before servicing

Air flow and heating problem inside dryer.

???? this doesnt make much sense, can see how you would be measuring air flow within the cabinet??? air blowing out unit strong means your gettin good air flow fom within, that is a direct relation as to the amount of (hot) air being pulled across the clothing
