Most IC's on circuit boards these days are of the surface mount variety. You will need special Desoldering Equipment to remove these chips, especially the one wth 100 or more pins, the type of equipment used in this process heats all sides of the chip at once while a small suction that grabs the chip for removal. Now the SIP chips (Single inline package). chips which usually consists of less then 20pins can be removed with a desoldering gun such as the HAko 880 desoldering gun. Or you can use a standard soldering iron and solder Wick, that can be found at Radio Shack under Soldering Braide).. These procedures are common for all IC replacement. I am asuming you are trying to remove the Convergence IC on this model, The two large Black one labeled STK-392-110, the correct and easy way to remove these is to remove the entire board from the unit and remove the two screws holdinf each one in place, Unsolder the pins of each one and remove the IC, reverse this process to reinstall them. Good soldering technique is critical here as you don't want to bridge pins together causing yourself more problems. Double check your soldering and Double check it again.

I have installed a new lamp in my 52 inch panasonic hdtv and after just a minute the tv cuts off not sure why?

Hi
If the TV is working correctly during that minute then the shutdown circuit is sensing a component failure or mismatch. Did you plug the lamp, inverter, power supply back in correctly? What was the original symptom? Did the TV work OK for a minute and then after a minute go dark? If this were the case then the lamp may not have needed changing but rather a capacitor and/or IC overheating. Good luck

HD 1080 Series (WD-55809) - Color convergence issue

I don't know of illustrated instructions but I can provide you with the service manual for your TV. It does have illustrations of disassembly and components as well as schematics. Your set very likely needs new convergence IC chips. This is a common problem with all projection TVs. The repair is not expensive ($60-75 in parts)  but does involve unsoldering and removing the old chips and soldering in new ones. Some times there are some fuses that need to be replaced as well. If you want the manual provide me with an email address.

Rca 52 inch projection looks like 3-d movie

Open up the back, the convergence ICs are large and attached to a heat sink. They should be marked STKxxx. In most cases, replacing the ICs is enough. Sometimes the feeder resistor fails because of too much current draw. Change the ICs before looking for more parts. Also, try resoldering the ICs. Bad connections can cause this problem as well.
