Question about Kenmore Dishwashers
Does it display any of the lights ? If it does not, you are likley looking at a open thermal fuse. to access this part follow these steps.
**FIRST shut the breaker off**
there are several types of "kenmore" units. some whirlpool, some frigidaire made. the most common being the whirlpool, so we'll focus on that type.
remove all the torx screws around the door panel, (large metal part)removing the ones holding the larger panel first, not the console/control panel (plastic). once those are out, pull the panel up slightly, and out towards you, that should get that out of your way. next, remove the remaining screws around the console/control (plastic). careful there is a wire harness going to the left of the door for the condensation vent wax motor and one going down to the detergent/rinse aid combi-dispenser. remove those connection's so you don't break the tab, or the wire itself. now you can remove this control panel. you should now see a plastic "cover" on the back of the console. this is held in place by a couple of clips only, locate them (should be fairly obvious) and remove the cover. there it is ! The fuse will look like a small round disc with 2 wires going to it, or it'll look like a tiny "rocket" in a plastic holder. ohm it out, if it's infinite, it's open. if you get continuity, its good. if it's open, replace it with this kit, # 8193762
put everything back together and there you go, easy right ?!!
**Do yourself a favor, install the complete kit with the new wire connectors. Alot of customers, do it yourselfer's and even expert techs replace the fuse only, then return in several months (maybe more or less) only to have the same problem. (whirlpool issued a "kit" for a reason)
hope that helps,

START/RESET status indicator light flashing
You have pressed the indicator light flashing START/RESET pad while the START/RESET dishwasher is running. This will cancel the cycle. The light will stop flashing after the dishwasher drains (about 90 seconds).
• Press the pad once to start the dishwasher. Press the pad a second time when the dishwasher is running only if you wish to cancel the cycle.
Power to the dishwasher was turned off while a cycle was running and power has just been restored to the dishwasher. The blinking lights indicate that the dishwasher is draining the potential water inside.
• The light will stop flashing after the dishwasher drains. A new cycle will start automatically.
