Reset your preferences to default. limit your fonts. This could take a long time to load.

I have adobe cs3 photoshop extended. program was running fine, then my computer crashed, i have a new computer now, i go to load the photoshop and adobe says that my serial number is no good.

If you have registered your photoshop CS3 Photoshop online, that is why it is saying the number is no good. What I would do is call Adobe, or contact someone there by email, explaining your situation, they should be willing to either send you another serial number or resetting you serial number so that you don't have to get a new serial number.

Photoshop CS3 Freeze Fix

This article is a how-to on how to fix an Adobe Photoshop freeze at start-up. It involves resetting or deleting the Photoshop preferences file.

http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=kb401600&sliceId=1

To re-create the preferences files for Photoshop, start the application while holding down Ctrl+Alt+Shift (Windows) or Command+Option+Shift (Mac OS). Then, click Yes to the message, "Delete the Adobe Photoshop Settings file?"

This is a quick and easy fix that Adobe claims will sometimes fix erratic or strange behavior such as freezes. Until next time, happy Photoshoping!

Viewing preview eps icons in Bridge CS4

Wow flash from the past. If possible, upgrade to a later version of the OS. At least 10.6, but honestly even that is old... anyway. Are you sure the eps were saved with preview images in illustrator? This might be the issue. Bridge previews are separate from the finder (apple). It's not really an OS issue, it's adobe.

You might also try deleting the preferences for bridge. With bridge closed, try this:

Start Adobe Bridge and immediately press Ctrl+Alt+Shift (Windows) or Command+Option+Shift (Mac OS) until the Reset Settings dialog box appears. Select all three options--Reset Preferences, Reset Standard Workspaces, and Purge Entire Thumbnail Cache--and then click OK.

Hopefully that helps.

Try starting the application while holding down the Shift and ALT keys. That will clear the preferences and cache files that sometimes can become corrupted.

Starts to open, then fails and closes

You need to delete the PS Preferences file (Adobe Photoshop 6 Prefs). It will be re-created when you restart Photoshop. # Windows 2000: Documents and Settings\\Application Data\Adobe\Photoshop\6.0\Adobe Photoshop 6 Settings.
