Try restoring it...here's how...

  1. Power off the device (Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the the iPod touch to turn off.
  2. Press and hold the Home button while reconnecting the USB cable to iPod. When you reconnect the USB to iPod, the device should then power on.
  3. Continue holding the Home button while iPod starts up. While starting up, you will see the Apple logo.
  4. When you see "Connect to iTunes" on the screen, you can release the Home button and iTunes will display the recovery mode message:
  5. Restore and it'll download ~240mb firmware and you're done
Warning: you will lose all your data

If it still doesnt come on its a hardware problem and needs to goto a service center.

Ipod Touch wont turn on

Your iPod has been working fine and all of a sudden it won't turn on. Not sure why? Before you rush to your nearest Apple store, try these easy-to-use, at-home solutions for fixing your iPod.

Check the Hold switch to see if it is off. Located on the top or the bottom of the iPod, when it is in the "on" position you will see an orange patch of color. Slide the switch until the orange coloring disappears. Try to turn on the iPod. Make sure the battery is fully charged by connecting your iPod to your computer's built-in FireWire or USB port or into an electrical outlet using your Apple iPod power adapter. Note: iPods without a click wheel cannot be charged using a USB port. After your battery is fully charged, try to turn on the iPod. Reset your iPod. iPod Shuffle: Disconnect iPod Shuffle from the computer if connected. Move the power switch to the off position. Wait five seconds. Move the switch to the play in order or the shuffle position. iPod Touch: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons together for at least 10 seconds until the Apple logo appears. iPod Nano (all generations), iPod Classic, iPod Mini: Turn the Hold switch on and off. Press and hold the Menu and Select buttons at the same time until the Apple logo appears, making sure to not touch any part of the click wheel. This should take about six to eight seconds and may need to be repeated. If your iPod still won't turn on, check the following: Make sure the iPod is the only device in your FireWire or USB chain. Disconnect everything but the mouse, keyboard and iPod, and try again. Double check that you are using the FireWire or USB cable that came with your iPod, and that it is in good condition. Try the built-in port of a different computer.

How do i unlock my ipod touch

Apple's iPod touch, a portable music player with a touchscreen display, is powered by a built-in rechargeable battery that provides up to 40 hours of audio playback and up to seven hours of video playback when fully charged. To conserve power, the iPod touch locks by default after a minute of not being used. If you want to use your iPod touch after it locks, you will need to unlock it. You might need to type a password, depending on how you've configured the device.

Press the "Home" button, located below the screen, or press the silver "Sleep/Wake" switch located at the top of the device. Swipe a finger across the "Slide to Unlock" slider on the screen. The iPod touch unlocks. Press the "Home" button or press the "Sleep/Wake" switch when you have enabled passcode protection on your iPod, then swipe a finger across the "Slide to Unlock" slider on the screen. The "Enter a Passcode" message appears. Type in your passcode, and then tap "OK." The iPod touch unlocks. Forgot Your Password b> Connect the iPod Touch to your computer using the USB cable. Wait for iTunes to open and sync with your computer. Eject your iPod Touch from the computer by clicking the "Eject" icon beside the iPod's entry in the "Devices" section of iTunes. Disconnect your iPod Touch from the USB cable. Your iPod Touch will be turned on and will be unlocked. Tap the "General" menu on the iPod Touch. Tap "Passcode Lock," and then tap either "Turn Passcode Off" or "Change Passcode." If you tap "Change Passcode," you can then enter a new passcode.
Hope it helps

1. Plug the iPod into the primary computer linked to that iPod, the first computer you synchronized it with unless you have designated another computer as the primary computer.
2. Open iTunes and sync the iPod as normal.
3. Remove the iPod, following the normal removal procedure. The iPod unlocks automatically as you remove it.

To reset an iPod with a Click Wheel, including: ipodnano3.jpg ipodclassic.jpg icon_ipod_5g.gif ipodnano2.jpg ipodnano.jpg ipodphoto.gif ipodg4.gif ipodmini.gif
  • iPod nano (3rd generation)
  • iPod classic
  • iPod (5th generation)
  • iPod nano (2nd generation)
  • iPod nano
  • iPod with color display (iPod photo)
  • iPod (Click Wheel)
  • iPod mini
  • iPod mini (2nd generation)
  1. Toggle the Hold switch on and off. (Slide it to Hold, then turn it off again.)
  2. Press and hold the Menu and Center (Select) buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears, about 6 to 8 seconds. You may need to repeat this step.
Tip: If you are having difficulty resetting your iPod, set it on a flat surface. Make sure the finger pressing the Select button is not touching any part of the click wheel. Also make sure that you are pressing the Menu button toward the outside of the click wheel, and not near the center.
If the above steps did not work, try connecting iPod to a power adapter and plug the power adapter into an electrical outlet, or connect iPod to your computer. Make sure the computer is turned on and isn't set to go to sleep.
