Question about Kenmore 3.2 cu. ft. Plus Top Load Washer
After filling, the motor hums/buzzes and nothing happens.
I pulled the pump and with the pump removed, and on spin cycle, the motor only spins.
When I put a small crescent wrench on the motor shaft where the pump would connect to, I can move the motor clock wise and the drum spins. It seems to be a reasonable amount of resistance.
I removed the motor and with no load, the motor would only buzz and not even spinn. When I help it spin with my fingers, the motor kicks in. As long as it is still spinning, with the switch, I can turn it on and off repeatedly.
There appears to be some sort a braking mechanism on the motor its self.
Is there a repair for the motor, or do I just need to replace it?
