Question about HP Pavilion DV5234US Notebook Laptop
You have lost your driver for your cam .
the simple way is :
click on start
right click on my computer
click on properties
click on hardware tab
click in device manager
scroll down looking for webcam
on the left hand side of the window you should see some tiny + in boxes
click on the webcam one and see if it has any red cross over the top of the box .
If it has ,hight light it
right click on it
than click on scan for hardware changes .
this may fix your problem .
try also if this does not work to download a driver for your webcam by re installing the CD that would have come with the PC .
prior to installing the CD make sure the old one is deleted from your drive .
this is what you will have to do :
click on start
click on control panel
click on add and remove
scroll until you find webcam
click on remove .
once this is done , wait until the window reset
put your webcam cd in your PC and load your driver .
follow the promp and you are away .

You need to check the Video Settings in Skype.
Start Skype - click on Options - Video Settings, select the WEBcam that is is installed on the laptop (if it is not listed then the WEBcam driver is not installed) and under Automatically Receive Video from - select Anyone or Only people in my contact list.
