Check wiring to the compressor to see if something came loose during movement.
Gently tap on top of compressor to see if it will start.

Ge profile 26 pfss6pkx Light comes on but won't get cold, no fan running

It doesn't cool
  1. Condenser coils
Make sure you dust off the condenser coils to prevent dust build up and overheating due to it overworking. Simply unplug and use a long coil cleaning brush to get rid of debris.
  1. Check seals
If your refrigerator door seal is broken, warm air is pushing its way inside the unit, thus causing it to not cool properly. Prevent this from happening by replacing your seal and keeping the cool air inside.
  1. Temperature controls
Ensure that your thermostat is set correctly, usually 38-40 degrees Fahrenheit.
  1. Defective condenser fan
When this fan is defective, cold air is prevented from flowing through the vents. It may require replacement.
  1. Compressor issues
Check if there are clicking sounds coming from the compressor as it tries to start. If there is a clicking, it is one of only two options, either the start capacitor or a bad compressor. A start capacitor is fairly inexpensive whereas a sealed system repair on the compressor is very expensive and often not cost effective. Refrigerator Repair Help Troubleshooting and Parts

Upright Freezer won't Cool

Hi - Typically freezers are not recommended to be located outside because if the garage temperature is above 100 degrees, it will have difficulties performing optimally due to un-circulating air. Some manufacturers have garage kit design to help with this issue. It is design to solely be used during the winter to provide heat to the coils which trigger the compressor to come on. During the summer months, generally it is not needed.

When was the last time you cleaned the condensers? You may do so by removing the toe grille and use extended vacuum attachment and condenser cleaning brush to remove dust buildup from condenser coils usually located on the left side underneath. If you hear the compressor running and if it is providing warm air then that means it is operating correctly and the sealed system is removing heat from the cabinet. Fan motor/evaporator may be the primary issue. However, if you do not hear the compressor and the unit is blowing room temperature then the unit may possibly have a sealed system leak, faulty compressor or overload relay. Contact a professional to move forward accurately from this point.

Hi, I have an amana ap125hd portable air conditioner and for some reason is doesn't produce cold air anymore. Then fan blows and the compressor kicks in, but to no avail, no cold air. I took the unit...

replace it,most likely the freon leaked out,if the compressor is running and the fan is blowing but not getting cold most likely you have a leak in the sealed system.

(window a/c stopped cooling? any ideas!!

Check all of the electrical connections and check the electrical cord for any apparent damage. If no problems found in wiring or cords, look for a compressor run capacitor.......carefully mark the capacitor and the wires you pull off.......take the capacitor to the nearest Air Conditioning Supply House and have them test it for you. If it is bad, they can offer a replacement and show you how to hook it up like the other one.

Kitchen Aid refrigerator is making a very loud noise!

when you transported this unit did you lay it down or stand it up? If it was layed down then you should of waited at least 24 hours before plugging it up again to give the oil in the compressor time to settle back down. Actually either way it was transported it still needed the 24 hour rest time. So if you automatically plugged it in after transportation you could have messed up the compressor. Let it set unplugged for 2 days then plug it in and see what happens. If loud noise persists then you know the compressor is shot. Goog Luck.

Heating strips which prevent door condensation over heating

MG,

During the move a hand truck got into the condenser fan and shut it down. Pull the fridge out and remove that cardboard cover in the back. On the left you'll see the compressor, on the right is the condenser fan. Make sure that there is nothing blocking the fan blade from rotating (I bet there is). Don't forget to replace the cardboard! It's crucial to the operation of you fridge.

After clearing the fan, plug it back in and you have your old fridge back! Cool, Huh?

Show me some love and rate this solution, will ya? Thanks!

Check your temperature setting.
- Check if no ice present in the evaporator, try the defrosting
- Check vents if air is present if no then check your blower if running or icing evaporator.
- Check your vents if not obstructed with stocks, or the unit is not overloaded with stocks.

My refrigirator is not getting cold..my frozen foods got all defrosted...

When you open the freezer door do you hear a fan blowing? It blows the same time the compressor is on. Needs to move air to cool inside of unit. If it is not blowing you will need to replace the fan inside the freezer.

Bad fan

The condenser fan - the fan which blows across the coils outside the fridge - should be running any time the compressor is running. If you hear the compressor but don't feel air moving under the unit, then the condenser motor is probably bad. It's not hard to replace. Find a replacement motor at a parts store or website like www.repairclinic.com . Some of the fans come with instructions, but it should be easy to figure out. Just be sure to unplug the fridge before you start.

CHECK CONDENSOR FAN IN REAR OF UNIT NEAR COMPRESSOR. IF COMPRESSOR IS RUNNING AND UNIT IS COOLING SOME, CONDENSOR FAN IS LIKLY THE PROBLEM. IF THE CONDENSOR FAN DOES NOT RUN THE COILS UNDERNEATH AND THE LOOP THAT RUNS NEAR THE FRONT EDGE OF BOTH DOORS WILL BE HOT.
