You will need to supply the brand name and model number. My suggestion is to use a search engine with (using quotation marks, but leave out parentheses) "(brand name)"+"DVD player"+"(model number)"+manual+pdf.
Be sure to use that exact wording and the plus signs and quatation marks. If the manual is available, you should be able to download and print it. Please DO print out your manual in case you need it again or give the DVD player to someone else who will need the manual.
Also, isn't this a good lesson about NOT throwing your owner's manual away with the packaging?
I had the password problem with the Phillips DVP-5140. I looked up the user manual on the Phillips website and searched for "password". There is a manufacturer default password of 136900. I entered that number and was then able to play the DVD. The password may be different for other models, but you can find the default in the user manual for your specific model.
