Re: My Polaroid DVD Portable do not read disc

Using a program called dvdshrink will do the trick. Go to, it is free. The problem with dvd's are some say they are listed to ntsc american standard, but some are sometime not done correctly. Follow all the instructions with the software and reburn the dvd without regions. It sould work after that. And it is not illegal to make "backups" of you purchased dvds. Hope this help.

DVD Player that repeatedly says NO DISC for Polaroid PDM-0752

either needs to be clean or the REGION needs to be set up to 1 or ALL , LETS TRY WITH cleaning the OPTICAL LENS with a dry Q tip , gently rub a few strokes at the lens , and give it a try, if NOT then try to set the REGION to 1 or all, if still not reading the disc , then have to replace the optical lens, good luck , AJ

"no disc" error message

Did this problem just start? It may be due to the lens no longer reading the disc. Try a lens cleaner. If your lens went south, it usually is paired with a clicking noise or/and the combination of a no disc/disc error message. I would also recommend staying away from Polaroid dvd players and tv's in the future. They have a habit of not making parts available, especially after the warranty.

My portable dvd player is not working good

It sounds like U have a bad lens. Try a lens cleaner. If it is the lens, it wont read anymore discs. Sometimes it will also make a clicking sound and show disc error/no disc cryptic messages on the screen.

You might try gently cleaning the laser eye with soft dry Q-tip. Other wise the laser will probably need replacing. I repair and sell portable DVD players.
