If the screen is black (ie there isn't any backlight) then the fault maybe the inverter board that supplies high voltage to the CCFL lamp ot the CCFL lamp is faulty. For service, parts and DIY info. check out LCD Parts - use this link to their WEB site. www.lcdparts.net
There are no user serviceable parts inside the monitor. There are also electrocution hazards when opening the monitor!
It is for these reasons that I advise you to replace it. Cost of repair will be close to replacing.

- For a laptop LCD screen, replacing the Inverter or Backlight would not be an issue. With a desktop computer monitor there are Electrolytic Capacitors inside, that hold a Much larger charge than a laptop LCD screen. These Capacitors are designed to hold a charge for weeks, sometimes months, after the unit has been unplugged from power. A skilled electronics technician, knows how to Properly drain the charge from those Capacitors, before working on the unit. I do Not know your electronics expertise, and advise you to Not open this unit. It is a Safety issue, and your safety is valued Above Anything else!

I get an error when ever i try to open photoshop elements. It says the monitor profile "Samsung - Natural Color Pro 1.0 ICM" appears to be defective. Please rerun monitor calibration software. I have done this and it does not fix the issue.
