Check the filter in the lower front. I would use a wet vac and **** out all the water from the discharge then unscrew the lower front panel and check the filter

I would assume that you are using HE detergent if not the pump could go into a suds lock. You may have a bad drain pump. The other options could be possibly a bad central control unit. (however these are very expensive) or possibly a door lock issue but usually you will get a door lock error.

Can the water level be increased for the Whirlpool Cabrio 6700?

you can not . frist off what type of detergant are you using ? you have to use an He detergant this is a low sudsing detergant formulated for frontload machines and must be used no substutes. next be sure not to overload the machine remeber the water has to be able to pass through the clothes these few things will make a large differance.

Leaking

The pumps usually have rubber hoses fitted them and they can deteriorate over time, moreso around the clamps that hold them onto the pump. Also, maybe the pump has been slightly opened via a worn seal. Either way, there may be a risk of fire if any water gets onto the electrical connections of the pump or spray onto any other open electrical connection inside the machine. It would certainly be advisable to have it checked with some urgency.

During the final rinse and spin, I would think the pump may not be used during these cycles.

Hope this helps somewhat.
