Question about Samsung HLN567W 56" Rear Projection HDTV

2 Answers

My TV pictures turns black afetr a few hours but I still can hear sound perfectly!!!

Hi I have a Samsung HGTV model # HLN567W and for the past 2 weeks its being acting up. I will turn the TV on and it will show fine. After about 3-4 hours the picture turns black but the sound stays and sounds perfect. I will shut the TV off for about 2-3 minutes and once I turn it back on I can see the picture fine again and it will stay working for about an hour or so and the same thing over and over. Sometimes during the day I can turn it off and on 5-6 times. But everytime I turn it off and on again(for a couple minutes) the picture will come back for about an hour...or sometimes longer. Its weird though cause when video games are played on it we never have that problem. The picture stays up fine. What could this be?? thanks

    YES,

i ALSO HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM ON MY 32IN SAMSUNG LCD HDTV WITH HOME THEATER TX30 CONNECTED VIA HDMI. IT TURNS BLACK ESPECIALLY WHEN PLAYING ACTION MOVIES. SOUND IS STILL THERE. I CALLED SAMSUNG SERVICES TO HAVE IT FIXED. THEY CHANGED THE BOARD OF THE HOME THEATER PLAYER, STILL HAVING PROBLEM. THEY WILL CHANGE THE BOARD OF THE HDTV THE NEXT TIME.

AS OF NOW, IT STILL TURNS BLACK. I HOPE IT WILL BE OK WHEN THEY CHANGE THE BOARD OF THE TV

My HLN567W screen freezes up and all buttons and remote functions stop working. The screen has some light projecting, but it is only white light, so it appears to be a negative image black and white still photo!
I'd like to isolate the problem before I start buying expensive repair parts. I purchased schematics for the unit, and have some general electronics and TV troubleshooting skills. Any sugestions?

    Thanks

Samsung DLP HLN4365 wx/xac picture freezes and turns black after a few seconds of switching on the TV. Sound is still there. Used to show the picture for half an hour but now freezes after a few seconds or minutes.

It sounds like your rptv lamp is going out. If this is an older DLP this is most likely the cause. You can get a replacement at www.laptopsforless.com part number BP96-00224J for $151. If the tv is still under warranty, I would have them do it, otherwise replace it yourself. If so here is a link to give you step by step instruction. Please give me a good rating. ;-)

I TURNED ON TV AND THE SCREEN WAS BLACK, I COULD STILL HEAR CHANN

I have one of these. It sounds like your projection light bulb has burned out & it needs to be replaced. Last time I checked (2 years ago), they were about $200. They are not hard to change if you are handy. Follow the directions, do NOT touch the bulb with your bare hands, use gloves or the oil from your hand will cause it to burn out prematurely. If you are not handy, call for a repair person.

Since you can hear the station it is tuned to, it doesn't sound like there is a problem with the tuner.

Samsung 40 no picture

If it is only 6 months old you probably still have a warranty. This is definitely a hardware issue, and unless you are comfortable taking your new TV apart, I would contact Samsung for repair.

Sony Trinitron KV-32S40 32" TV problem

This is a simple and common problem. The solder joints on the vertical output IC have cracked loose. I actually did a housecall on the exact same set with the exact same symptoms this morning! A good tech will resolder the pins of the vertical output IC and all other major solder joints on the main board and the set will play fine.
