If the amplifier supplies a different resistance rating (ohms) than the speakers draw, it might automatically shut down the amplifier to protect from damage. Make sure the Teac output matches the speakers required input. Hooking up speakers that draw 8 ohms to an amp that supplies 2 ohms can cause amplifier damage.

I can not get the sound to work on the tv without the speakers

Need to know some things:

Brand and model number of the set.

If you connected speakers from one unit to another did you disconnect speakers from the TV?

Speakers have different impedence's---(resistance) and if you hooked for example a 32 ohm to a set which uses 4 ohm speakers you may have little or NO sound.

Also if for some reason you had both speakers for both hooked up at the same time and turned the units on---may have destroyed the audio circuit.

Clarify a little what is hooked up and from where and how.

Hello i was wanting to know if i could hook up my AX-596 amplifier to my Yamaha HTR-5860 reciver

I assume you want to slave it to the receiver and drive some more speakers with it.

Connect some RCA cables from whichever channel pre-outs you want on the HTR-5860 to any input on the AX-596.

Set the AX volume to something sufficiently high, run through the HTR's speaker level setup and match the AX volume to match the channels on the receiver. Then leave the AX's volume alone.
---

If you just want the AX to have access to program sources of the HTR, run the RCA cables to it from one of the VCR1 or 2 Out (but DO NOT select whichever one you use via the front panel). These are not affected by the HTR's volume controls.

Lost Sound

when you loose sound in these set it can be one of three things. 1 the enternal speakers are blown. 2 go into setup and check to see the amplifer has been set to internal for the tv speakers external for speakers that you added. if still no sound then the likly cause is the audio aplifer chip to replace that you have to replace the main signal boad rother wise known as signal board. this board is one that a qualified rca tech has to do. he has specail equipment used to transfer data from the old to the new

Problem adding wsp155 wireless speakers.

You must check with the instalation gude for the wireless speaker to see if the connection to the reciver is a high impedence or low impedence... If its like most wireless set-ups its going to be a high impedence output from the reciver to the transmitter part of the speakers. That would be from the RCA jacks in the back of the reciver maked line out or tape out. If you want to use them for a specific speaker output , some recivers have an output jack that would be labeled center sperker out but would be an RCA type jack ect ect. If your reciver dosent have that you can in a higher end audio store get an adaptor to convert the speaker output to a high impedence, But I dont recomend that as some of the adaptors do cause excessive strain on the output section of the amp or reciver.. If you buy a good one though you should be fine.. You get what you pay for.. Good Luck
