Replaced broken door handle, but washer won't

Replaced broken door handle on Splendide 2100, but washer won't start or fill. After selecting "reset",selecting wash cycle and water temp, then depressing "on" button,Light blinks slowly once, then rapidly a couple times, then steady. But washer won't start or fill. What's wrong?
