Question about Thermos Grill2Go Fire+Ice

1 Answer

Got a Thermos "Griil 2 GO" not sure what kind or size propane to use or how to connect it. Don't have the owners manual, and have never used it before--a hand-me-down from my dad.

You can use a large tank or the small green tanks. There will be a connection on the right side of the grill for the can to screw onto either mounted or hanging. It will be in the back of the grill.

Why it can't keep hot?whats the problem?

dumb thing to check. Make sure all propane tubes feeding gas to burners are clear. Spiderwebs or bugs making nests inside will block most/all propane and it will leak out the air ports where the tubes connect to back of valve. fire hazard. use pipe cleaners or special flex brush available at hardware stores.

Gas is connected and when the igniter button is pushed the grill does not light

I am assuming this is a problem with an out door propane grill, most igniter are charged by a battery AA size, to excess the battery you should check your owners manual but some of them twist off to expose the battery so it can be changed, if the battery is good(new) make sure you hear a click and look into the grill(make sure the propane is OFF while doing this step) and you should see a spark. If you need a owners manual you can online to the manufacture and they usually are available for a free download. to recap: 1. Test Battery 2. Turn on propane tank 3. Turn on grill 4. Press Igniter 5. Turn all gas off after testing If you still have problems I would recommend getting a owners manual and see what they recommend in the trouble shooting area. If you still need to please contact me and I will help you.
Thank You.

You can get the manual on the link below. Make sure you have the right regulator for the propane and not one for Natural Gas.

Converting Thermos Stainless Grill to natural gas

You have to install a conversion kit for it to work the way you want. The reason is because the orifice in either the valves or the main "jet" that feeds the burner tube has to be changed. Natural gas is really not as efficient as lp gas (propane) because it takes more natural gas to create the same btu output as propane.

In short, your grill will not work if you do not do the conversion. I am including a link that lists the conversion kit for your grill, you can order it there and you can download the assembly manual as well.

Converting to gas

If it does not get hot enough when using natural gas then the small propane orfices must be sized larger for the equivalent BTU rating of propane. Conversion tables are online via Google
