Question about Washing Machines

1 Answer

I need to replace the lid switch in my Kenmore 90 series washer, model 110-22912-101 Type 111. How do I remove the cover over the timer and switches and gain access to the lid switch connection? It looks like the top trim piece is held only by two screws on the back, but it won't come loose after removing those two screws. The endpieces look like they just pop into place, but I can't pull them loose. How should I proceed?

My kenmore 90 series washer won't spin or agitate Model: 11022912101 Serial: cl5113153 type: 111

true. there is no belt on this model. most likely, the motor coupler has broken. very inexpensive part and fairly easy to replace if you have about an hour. the old part was all plastic and the new part has some reinforced metal in the center. these parts break easy, especially if the person washing lets the machine run off balance all the time.

Washer Kenmore 70 Series Model # 110.247323000 Serial# CR3845255 Type 111 Washer fills cold, warm, hot - no agitation - no draining

IF THE MOTOR DOES NOT RUN CHECK THE LID SWITCH. IF YOU HEAR IT RUNNING YOU MAY HAVE A BAD COUPLER.

It is a door switch for Kenmore 80 series top load washer model no. 110.25842400, type 111

I'm not sure what your question is but following is the Sears parts site for your washer.

http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/getModel!retrieve.pd?pop=true&modelNumber=110.25842400

If you look in the top and cabinet section, you'll see a description of the Lid Switch.

If you need to replace it, you'll have to remove the cabinet first.

Following is a site with a description of how to do it.

I HAVE A KENMORE 90 SERIES WASHER JUST REPLACED

it mounts to the metal where the lid closes, not on the drum... there's usually two holes where the screws go through... and a third hole where the actuator(plastic post) on the lid goes through to activate the lid switch...

Have kenmore 70 series washer model #20702991 ser #1069231 type 111 will not drain. It starts the cycle by agitating then stops and will not go to drain cycle. switch on top lid does not ckick, tried...

The lid switch must close for the washer to spin. I've seen a lot of these break where it's mounted to the top. You may still be able to reach under the top to grab the switch to close it and get it to drain. You'll almost certainly need to replace the lid switch.
