Question about Sony DAV-IS10 System

Keep saying No Disc on Sony BDV-IS1000

When I first got the machine, I was able to play a Bluray disc. After about a minute I had to pause because someone was at the door. Afterwards, it would not resume play. When I started all over again, it would not read the disc at all, keep saying no disc. I tried a couple regular DVD discs, some CDs and still saying "no disc".

My sony bdv-e300 started not being able to read discs.....after trying updates (from .007 to .009); resetting; unplugging from surge protector to wall outlet (all Sony's support ideas).....nothing...

Did you figure this out? I upgraded firmware from 009 to 011 and am now having the same problem. Have had the unit for 18 months. Called Sony and they want me to ship in for 147.00 dollar repair even though their firmware upgrade caused the problem. Cannot operate disk now when trying to load a Blu-ray disk. Plays standard DSD's without any trouble.....

Won't play new blue ray disk

Will your machine play standard movie DVD discs? if it does then the laser pickup assembly is the problem. The blue ray discs require a higher precision tracking to offer better resolution.

Can not play blu-ray on my bdp-s300

If the issue is with only new discs, then you can install the Firmware update.
http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/swu-download.pl?upd_id=5861&mdl=BDPS300
If the issue is with all the discs, then try resetting the Player from the Menu. If the issue still persists, try power resetting the player.
Turn Off the player and remove the power plug from the wall outlet for 1 minute and reconnect it and check the operation.
If the issue still persists, then the player requires service.

My Magnavox bluray disc player NB500MG9 will not play bluray dvds. Please help

My Blu-Ray will not play x disc
A Blu-ray player can play DVD or CD and still not play Blu-ray. It may play Blu-ray but not CD or DVD, or burned discs. This is all caused by the 'optical' a part that reads the disc in the machine. Your player will need service as a Blu-ray optic cannot just be 'dropped' into a player.

Why does the Cannot play this disc. statement appear every

If it is just a few random discs the problem is with the individual disc. Either a corrupted (dirty) disc, an unrecognizable format such as a BluRay, DVD-RW, or PAL Disc (out of region).
If it is every disc: http://www.techlore.com/article/10478/Why-Does-My-DVD-Player-Say--No-Disc--/

Bluray disc doesn't work in my computer vaiovgc-lt25e

Hi carlos,
The reason for this is that Bluray is a different file type than DVD.  That means that a DVD player can only handle certain file types of which Bluray is not one of them.  The drive you are using is a DVD drive.
Unfortunately the only way to play a Bluray disc is with a Bluray drive.  These can be purchased at any computer or electronics store and are becoming quite competitive in price.  That or you can return the movie and buy a DVD or CD version of the disk.
Hope that helps, and please don't forget to vote/rate!
