THE COMBO WHEN YOU HIT PLAY SHOULD BE AUTOMATIC AND DISPLAY PICTURE AND SOUND ON THE SCREEN---THIS IS LISTED AS A TV-VCR COMBO SO IF dvd hooked to one of the rear inputs (some are also on front on some models) in the menu you select that input and should see the picture and hear the sound from the DVD.
If you are using a Scart connection, ensure the scart is sitting fully home from the back of the TV & the rear of your DVD. Best thing is usually to pull it out & then push it back in. This is usually caused because the Scart has come loose.
at the dvd player plug in the picture wire by av out, at the tv plug the yellow wire in av in.
The sound is the same sound out at the dvd player look for a L R this means left and right at the tv there should under av in next to the picture wire you pluge the soun in
hope this is clear to you
Is your tv connected to your cable box through HDMI, AV, or component? _____________________________
If its through HDMI then your cable carrier needs to load updated frimware in your box to communicate properly with your 2005 tv. The firmware loaded in your cable box needs to be "reverse compatible" for first generation HDMI from your 2005 tv. If your using AV or component hook-up and there's no sound then re-check all of your audio settings within the tv's menu. Also recheck the cable-wire your using and proper input/output ports.
ON your dvd player, is your tv connected through component, AV(rca) or HDMI?
If its through "component" then you need an extra audio cable to and from the DVD and tv.
Sounds like something got confused in the re-wiring...if the TV signal from cable doesn't involve a box, then the co-ax should go straight to the "cable in" or "RF in" on the TV, and the sound equipment gets connected to output ports on the TV. Otherwise, try bypassing the video connections on receiver or whatever and go directly to TV...My surround sound has video in and out, but I've never used them, it doesn't matter.
Had same problem with my HDMI connection on my sony bravia and sony theatre system, resolved by conecting a scart lead from the theatre system to one of the free scart sockets on the back of the TV, leave your HDMI connection in place as the DVD signal comes from this,
Hi
If your t.v.has built-in blue screen when there is no signal, then the DVD may have been accidentally switched to progressive scan mode, or defaults to that setting if new. If your T.V. is not capable of displaying in progressive scan mode, you will just get a blue screen. If you have an older tv, without blue screen, then connect it to that, and if you get a black and white split screen when you turn on the DVD, then progressive scan is the problem. Check the manual for the DVD player for the procedure to get out of that mode, and it should then work. If you still have no video, and you are using the yellow composite video jack on the back of your DVD player, then it must be brought in for service.
Good Luck!
