I have a slick MP3 player i purchased from the dollar store around a year ago. It worked fine for a while. Then this morning i changed the battery. When i turned it on, i got a screen that said ''file system'' and it said there were no songs on it. I put in a different nbattery, samething. Here's the interesting part, i put the old battery back in, and it works fine. to make things even more bizzare, i put even older batteries in, and it worked (i have a habit of leting my dead batteries pile up). I hooked it up to the computer and checked it out with windows explorer, and it shows up blank. WMP doesnt register it. Anyoneknow whats goin on, and how in the world does this relate to the batteries??

I Recently bought a Zen, and it works great. The only problem I found was that it freezes itself from time to time, and the best solution to this problem is on the bottom of your Zen, there is a very small Reset hole. With a needle or a toothpick, gently stick it in, and push lightly. This will allow the Zen to unfreeze, and return back into it's regular mode. All your files will be saved, and kept on to the Zen, so you don't need to worry about losing any of your files.
Any additional help, I'll be glad to answer!

SOURCE: Sansa m250 won't finish "finalizing update"
I had the same problem with my m250, the PC wasn't recognizing the device nor the connection. So I tried the settings of the mp3. I started by going to the menu, then settings, then USB and then selected MSC instead of Auto Detect. After that, my PC did recognized the device. Hope this helps.
SOURCE: Sansa M230 not seen in Explorer or Windows Media Player
We had the same problem with Windows XP. We found some help on the Sandisk web site. On the device go to the Settings menu, then USB. We changed from AutoDetect to MSC mode and everything is working again. Our computer saw all of the songs on our computer fine. Some of the old songs on the Sansa didn't show up on the detect list in Windows Media Player, but they were still on the device.
