Question about Fisher and Paykel GWL11 Top Load Washer

Water dripping into the tub when washer is not in use

I have a GWL08 and water is dripping into the tub from what appears to be a mixing valve at the top of the inside of the unit. We have hard water and the valve appears to have a buildup. What is this part and can I clean it or does it need to be replaced?

You are right, it is called the water inlet valve assembly. I will attach a photo for reference. You can try to clean the small metal screens inside the opening on the valve, but the problem is most likely in the solenoids. They can be tested using a multimeter or ohmmeter and checking for continuity. A lack of continuity means a bad solenoid and the water inlet valve will need replaced. Sorry for your trouble and I hope this helped. Best wishes.

Replace your washer mixing valve. This is the fill valve for your washer. Also install the newer safer stainless steel fill hoses and install fine mesh coned hose screen washers in the end that connects to your house valves. This will prevent the grit or corrosion from getting into your new washer valve and causing another repair. Good Luck, Appliance Specialists

Washer leaks out of the bottom. checked drain hose it is not plugged, checked hot and cold water hoses they're ok.

REMOVE THE TOP OF WASHER AND CHECK THE WATER INLET VALVE. I HAVE DONE EVERYTHING AND FINALLY DISMANTLED THE WASHER UNTIL I FOUND THE HOT WATER INLET VALVE WAS LEAKING FROM THE TOP AND DRIPPING DOWN THE TUB AND ENDING UP ON MY FLOOR. IT WILL DRIP EVEN WHEN THE WASHER IS NOT ON DUE TO THE PRESSURE BUILT UP ON THE VALVE.

The cold water often will not shut off even when power is turned off on my Fisher & Paykel GWL08 washer. It must be turned off manually. Is the problem the input valve, and where do I get a new one?

If it fills with water and starts the cycle and the water keeps running in then your water inlet valve on the back where the water supply comes in is sticking. It needs replacing.
Post your model number(http://www.appliancepartspros.com/modelnumber_loca tor.aspx ) HERE and search for water inlet valve > http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/getModel!retrieve.pd?modelNumber=GWL08

Or you can go to an appliance parts store.

Water drip

There is a water fill valve that allows water in, mixes cold and hot water or shuts it off. Its location is where the hot and cold water hoses connect to the washer.
Get the model number off the machine and go to the web site below and you can see the valve and also the cost of the valve should you choose to fix it.

Good luck, let me know.

you need a new fill valve, even if you ulplug the washer does it still drip? If yes then you do need a new fill valve. Just turn water off at the wall so your machine don't overfill.

try turning the mach off while it is spinning and filling.if it continues to fill or drip heavy, the mixing valve is not closing completely and needs to be replaced.if the water stops when the mach is turned off, there is a problem with the pressure switch.

With the lid open, you'll see two white plastic plugs on the top front lip of machine. Pry them up with fingernail to reveal screws to remove. Take care not to let top flop back as plastic tabs may break.
