Why wont my nikon d3000 SLR download pictures to my computer ?

First of all, you upload pictures to your computer (you are putting pictures into the computer, not taking them out; downloading). Make sure that your computer's plug-n-play module recognizes that your camera is attached. Depending on if you have a Mac or PC, you may need to download and install a new driver for your computer from the Nikon website. I never connect a USB cable from my camera to the computer for uploads. Instead, I take the SD memory card out of the camera and insert it in the card reader on my iMac. If your computer does not have a built in card reader, many brands of external card readers are available at very low prices on line.

Do what the pros do to avoid this very problem...use a card reader to download to a folder you create on the desktop. Once there, you can send the pics to iPhoto.

We cannot get our images off of the Nikon Coolpix S570. I have a Mac (OS 10.4.11) - am linking with the USB standard cable that comes with the camera. The Mac can see the Camera in devices (about this...

I am not sure if I can help but what I would suggest is first of all disconnect the camera from the mac and then if you have iphoto go to preferences and make sure that iphoto is the application that is activated when the camera is plugged in. Then close the preferences. Now connect the camera to your mac. If you do not have iphoto you can use image capture which is in the applications folder. Hope this helps.

My mac wont recognise the usb when i plu g it in

Make sure after you plug in the camera that you turn it on.

If it still doesn't read try downloading the Software Suite for Coolpix for Mac.

Still problems then try another USB port on your laptop, or try it on another just to be sure its working properly.

When i plug my camera into my mac nothing shows up on my mac to show that the camera is plugged in. i've looked in applications, on my desktop, everywhere

Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use iPhoto or Nikon Transfer or any other photo cataloging program.

Hi This is Mac from bangalore. Recently i bought a Nikon D80. I love to take wildlife & nature photography. what lens can u suggest. i already have a 18-135mm lens that came as a kit. would be great if...

Mac, you will depending on the type of wildlife you are wanting to photograph you will probably need something marked with at least 300mm on it. Nikon have lenses in this range at different price levels. I suggest that you maybe look at the 75 - 300mm, from memory it has VR on it... important for use at the 300 mm setting to help reduce camera shake. Cheers Ian
