What type of player is it. One general solutions is that you can go to the manufactures website and download the drver yourself and install it. This should fix that issue

Accidentally deleted everything on sansa e250 computer can't see device.

Hi there

I can understand issue. When you say the device is not detected. Then it could be an issue with the system files would have got deleted because of the format.

To fix this issue, i would recommend you to keep the device in MTP mode ( Menu->Settings->USB->MTP).
Connect the device to the computer.
It will give the message as Found New Hardware.
Go ahead and install the MTP drivers by following on screen instruction.
Then Unplug the device.
Restart the computer.
Connect the device.
Now we are offset and device will be detected.
IF still you have issue kindly revert..... Good luck

Computer running under Windows XP says my device is not connected and yet it shows in Windows explorer?

Hi There..

When you say device is listed in windows explorer, butif the XP says device is not connected. Then i'd say the device is detecting as storage media (i.e MSC).
It needs to be connected as MTP. In this case i'd request you to update the MTP driver.
To update the MTP driver you can try two ways.

First Step:

1) When you connect the MP3 player to the computer you could see a SAFETY REMOVE HARDWARE on the system tray.
2) Right click on that safety remove hardware.
3) You will get a popup, in which you need to click on properties
4) That will bring the window in which you can see your MP3 player listed.
5) Right click on it and choose the option update driver.
6) This will update the MTP driver of the player and after that unplug the device
7) Restart the computer and now connect the device.
8) That will automatically update the drivers.

SECOND METHOD:

1) Go to device manager
2) Locate for the option that says USB and right click on it.
3) Try updating the drivers.
4) Now restart the computer.
5) That should work.

Kindly revert if you have any clarifications.

Computer says device not found, went to RCA to download the driver, error message states player must be in msc mode, when plugged into computer the screen says usb connected

There will be a setting somewhere on the player (usually in settings) that allows you to change the USB mode to MSC. The manual for your device should tell you how to do this. If you don't have the manual, here's a link. http://support.rcaaudiovideo.com/manual.aspx?product=392

remove the usb drivers from the pc and then reboot and let windows reinstall the drivers, you can also try the usb ports on the back of the pc since they have more power.

Cannot install the device

With regards to this issue, I would suggest you to download windows update since samsung MTP devices are generic driver loaded by microsoft. Then after you have downloaded the windows update press and hold the play button of your device while you are connecting it to your computer, if this is successful a Found new hardware message will pop up on your screen then just follow the on screen instruction on how to install your device. Hope this helps. PEACE!
