This has nothing to do with your anti-virus or your browser settings. This is an issue with either Facebook or Farmville. I am not sure which. I know this because I can access Farmville fine on any computer in my house. When I sign in to my mother-in-law's account it is gone. I have contacted Facebook and Zynga (the makers of Farmville). I will post their answer as soon as I get one.

OK. I have a fix for ya. (At least it worked for me.) Close your browser and re-open it. DO NOT GO TO FACEBOOK!Instead, go to www.farmville.com. At the top, there is a button that says Login:Facebook. Click on that and you will get a pop-up that asks for your email and password you use to log in to Facebook. Once you log in, you can click on the ADD BOOKMARK button. Once that is done, go back to Facebook and see if you can connect to Farmville. You may have to re-add your Farmville bookmark back to your Facebook page.

    Hope this helps!

best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

you may have both sites set as restricted in your browser... you have to check your browser & antivirus security settings to be sure you don't have either site 'blacklisted'. also, if you're told your system is infected, you need to do a full scan on your computer.

Can you access any other site using the computer that can't access Facebook? If you can, then someone don't want you on facebook and has the site blocked or restricted.

Why my internent dont open facebook ?

If everything else (google, yahoo and other sites) is working correctly than you should try to find are there any restrictions for facebook on your computer (policies for firewall or antivirus software, also there might be some parental restriction up for this site). Good luck!

10 -29 -09 I cannot access my facebook, after

i guess ur using a licensed and updated antivirus (i prefer avg/kaspersky)..!!
this is a common problem now days, probably itz caused by a virus/trojan..

try using only --
http://login.facebook.com/login.php

download microsoft KB890830, install n run

also possibilies of:
u may not hv java runtime/adobe flash player/shockwave player installed..
the windows firewall is limiting the site..
may b ur antivirus is doing so..
some spyware/trojan horse also may play foul..
sometime it also depends upon the browser u r using..
may b it is black-listed or restricted by using 'content advisor' (in case of ie) in ur computer by some user or the above..
may b it is being filtered by the 'phishing filter'..
there may b possibilities that the site may contain 'active content'..

Unable to login to facebook

Whichever antivirus you might have installed will have an option to exclude it & mark it 'trusted' in the exeptions list for the antivirus to allow you to navigate to that site without blocking. After that these annoying pop ups wont appear as warnings and will allow you to access whatever site in facebook and any other site that you wish to frequent...sodeep

Facebook is listed as a restricted site

The easiest way to fix this problem is to 1st open a command prompt. To do this if you have Windows XP, click on the start button, then select "run", then type "cmd" and finally hot the "enter" button. If you have Windows Vista or later, click on the start button, then type "cmd", then hit the "enter" key.

Once you have the command window open, type the following:
"netsh winsock reset".

Now, reboot computer.

The Facebook, Myspace, Youtude, etc., error should be gone, unless you are still infected with malware. In that case, install and run malewarebytes' anti-malware and repeat above steps.

The problem happens because the malware installs a filter in the Windows operating system called an "LSP" (Layered Service Provider). Issuing the above command, netsh winsock reset, resets the various LSP's to their default state (before the malware corrupted them), as well as the layering order.

The LSP that one of the fake antivirus programs installs is contained in a file called c:\windows\system32\helper32.dll. After resetting the LSP stack, you should delete this file.

Make sure facebook.com is not listed under your restricted sites in IE.

To do this, select tools from the menu bar in Internet explorer
Select Internet Options from the drop down list
Select the security tab
Select Restricted Sites icon, then click on the sites box below,
Remove facebook.com from restricted sites

Facebook has also been experienceing some downtime lately..
