Brother’s uses a special type of shiny papers and in many occasions the feeder do not like the standard papers the gab is bigger than the standard one cause the feeder to miss. You need to clean the feeder according to the instructions and if you do not have the manual tell me and I can guide you...let me know how that work for you and please do not forget to rate my service so we can improve on it with your help. God bless

Paper jam MFC 685 CW

Hello there
This may work for you, it has worked for many here I given this advice so gave it a try it could work for you. Generally when this happens, something has fallen into the printer, or a piece of paper has been jammed in there.

First step, remove the ink cartridge, and turn the printer upside down and gently shake it, see if anything comes out.

If nothing goes, or you can't hear anything rattling around, get a piece of cardstock paper (60lb or heavier) and gently push this through the printer, to see if it will help push out what might be stuck in there.

And gave the rode that the ink slides on a good clean and maybe a bit oil on cloth and wipe the rod with it.

Please come back and just gave a vote, it will gave me some satisfaction to know am helping some one so I will keep on helping.

I have a Brother MFC-885 that shows paper jam although all paper has been removed What do I do please?

Common problem. Open the back door and check the sensor flag and make sure it flips back and forth freely. Check the spring. Also check inside the drum cavity ares for same flags.

Paper jam on a brother MFC-290C

Sounds like there is still paper in there, carefully move the carriage assembly to the left and look in with a flashlight, also check the left side with the light. Usually paper gets wrinkled and shoved to one side or the other.

My fax machine keeps saying there is a paper jam.

look on the bottom of your drum unit. there is a sensor opening that might have a tiny piece of paper in it, not allowing the sensor flag to reset. if thats not it, closely inspect behind rear door.

I have a brother mfc 665cw printer, had a printer jam, cleared the jam and now recieve unable to print 50 error, unable to copy or print. Have found some information about the encoder strip but I have no...

Normal 0 I suggest you get a sheet of Card Stock (Heavy paper) and place it in the feed way. Then press the print button applying a slight amount of pressure on the Card Stock so it will feed through the printer. The reason for this is in some cases I have been able to clear the paper track of debris that was deposited there over time.
Worth a try, as I have fixed a number of printers this way, saving costly repairs.
Hope this helps. Bud

Paper stuck under printheads

I dont think the paper is beneath the ph. Some paper will stuck between the gear wheels. Pull papertray out and try to look from the bottom into the printer. Another way is to have a close look at the even left and right side from above when you open the scanner (like changing the carts).
