What you require is basically impossible. There are so many brand specific drivers that none will be specifically generic. There are several resources that have "Mega Packs" of assorted drivers, but most appear to want some form of payment.

I noticed one of these megapacks being auctioned on eBay. a few weeks ago.

Try Microsoft update site to see if there is one designed for your system, regardless if you know the type of driver needed.

You need to go to the website for the maker of you computer, find the section where "drivers" are available for download (often under a tag named "support") then find the audio driver for your model and operating system (in your case XP), download the file and simply run it. You should not need to do any more than that to fix this problem. In the old days it was recommended to un-install faulty software (drivers) first, but audio driver installation in XP on a modern laptop should just go on with no complications.

If possible to use another pc to go to this site http://www8.hp.com/us/en/support-drivers.html eneter the correct information for the pc and all apllicable drivers for that pc should come up. If using another pc save the drivers to a cd or flash drive then install them to the pc that needs the audio drivers.

My computer model Acer Power series FV530 model today i Installed Window XP in Drive D:/. After that i couldnt get audio What can i do for this problem Kindly assist me

First check you have drivers installed. RMB My computer - Manage - Device manager - scroll down the list see if there are any yellow question marks. If so you need to install drivers for those devices. Also check for disabled devices (red x) they'll need enabling.

If you don't have an audio driver, try this:-

http://en.kioskea.net/download/download-971-drivers-realtek-ac-97-audio

Download the
Realtek AC'97 Audio Driver

Its a generic driver, good for most PC's

I doubt, due to no support from Microsoft, anyone still supports XP. The nearest drivers I can find are Vista32 bit drivers.
Have fun and good luck.
How about Win2000 drivers, they are very similar?

AUDIO DRIVER

Your card should use the AC97 codecs from Realtek. If the generic driver doesn't work for you try the HD codec.

Post your results here, especially if those drivers don't do the trick for you...

This is not a generic problem. You will have to go to the computer manufacturers web site, and download/install the correct drivers.

Dual boot vista/XP on dell studio 1737, drivers needed ?

For the video drivers you might try the intel generic drivers for xp these should work here is the process.

For the audio use the latest vista driver and then follow the steps here.

The latest driver in combination with f you are using Microsoft Windows XP*, you may need to first install KB888111.exe, the Microsoft* UAA High Definition Audio Package version 1.0a. should work.

Drivers for HP pavilion with win xp

HP does not offer Windows XP drivers.

But, the chipsets on the HP computer are made by 3rd party companies. So, you mighty find out, for example, who makes the Audio chip and on their website find generic drivers for that chip, that will work in Windows XP.

Here are some I found:

Nvidia Chipset GeForce 6150SE nForce 430 (mutiple drivers) XP DRIVERS

Realtek High Definition 8-channel audio, ALC 888S chipset XP DRIVERS

Have you already installed Windows XP on the computer? If so, did you look in the Device Manager to see what devices have problems or undefined devices with question marks?
