    Complete a Regular Restore
  1. Back up your iPod Touch's data to your computer before the restore to prevent losing data. You'll need to reinstall it after the restore process.
  2. Connect to the Internet and install the latest version of iTunes from the Apple website.
  3. Make sure your iPod Touch is connected to your computer.
  4. Pick "iPod Touch" in the Source pane of the iTunes program.
  5. Click on the Summary tab.
  6. Choose "Check for Update."
  7. Select "Restore" and follow the instructions to finish restoring your iPod Touch. Complete an Advanced Restore
  8. If following the steps in the previous section did not work, follow these steps to perform an advanced restore. Turn off the power on the iPod Touch.
  9. Plug the iPod Touch into your computer.
  10. Power on the iPod Touch.
  11. Press the "Home" and "Sleep/Wake" buttons together for 5 seconds until the Apple logo appears.
  12. Release the "Sleep/Wake" button but continue holding down the "Home" button. The iPod Touch should reboot, and iTunes will notice the iPod Touch in recovery mode.
  13. Return to the above section and follow those steps to restore your iPod Touch.

My ipod wont turn back on

You have not stated any model no. which makes it hard to provide a solution.
The iPod A1136 is the fifth generation iPod from Apple that uses a click wheel to scroll through your device's media library, and may occasionally lock up when you attempt to play a song or display a photo. This error error occurs when the hard disk is unable to access the information and stalls while opening a file. A reset of the device usually corrects the problem, as it clears the device's memory and any errors. Check your iPod's buttons to determine if the cause is due to a hardware error before resetting the device, as the problem may be due to the iPod's hold switch. Slide the hold switch at the top of the iPod to the right, and slide it back to the left to ensure the switch is in the off position. Hold down the center button in the click wheel, and at the same time hold down "Menu" on the click wheel. Continue to hold the iPod's buttons until the device's screen shuts off, turns back on and shows the Apple logo. Plug the iPod's connector cable into the dock connector on the bottom of the iPod. Plug the other end of the cable into your computer's USB or FireWire port to charge the iPod. Wait at least two hours for the iPod to charge. Launch iTunes on the computer, and click "Controls" of the iTunes menu. Click "Eject iPod" in the sub-menu to disconnect the device. The iPod takes four hours to completely charge its battery.
Hope this helps.

Says connect to itunes forgot pass code

is this for itunes or the ipod. if you forgot the password on your ipod and want to keep all of your data you
can plug it up to your computer and click on the ipod drive.from there go to tools and then folder options.
once a new window comes up go to the second tab and check the box that says show hidden files.
after you click okay and see if a faded folder called system data or system.look for a folder called control
open that up and look for a file that looks like it holds a lock or is named lock.i am not sure if this works with
the ipod touch but it worked on the new rectangle ipod nano.i might be off a little bit about the files for
it was a while ago and i don't own a ipod.if you got anymore question i will try my best to answer them at
my email account. gamecrazy944@yahoo.com

I don't believe its a File Problem, My lads Ipod has the same error -69 and will not sync, However it will also not sync on my Itunes which syncs fine with my 30gb IPOD and my Ipod also syncs fine on his computer.

Retry your iPod with a different USB or FireWire port on your computer (please note that the latest iPods can only be synced through USB). 3. Restart your computer, and make sure that you have the latest software updates installed. 4. Reinstall your iPod and iTunes software. You can download the latest versions of iPod Updater (http://www.apple.com/ipod/download/ ) and iTunes (http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ ) from our website. 5. Restore your iPod using the latest iPod Updater. Important: Please note that restoring (http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=60983 ) an iPod will erase all songs and files on your iPod and restore it back to its original settings.
