You have to release the back and in some models you need to separate the switches at fron from panel
abyway the belt is very easy to change in the hotpoint as it just slips out
when replacing it make dure is back at right position otherwise will not turn properly
I do not do this any longer as lenghty and not more economical task

Td4112 which way does belt fit around drive and

check the drive it should have grooves on it. that means that the belt grooves should go around the drive and facing the drum. When you see the belt on the drum you should not see the grooves on the belt

Zanussi Aqualux washing machine

the belt is a tight fit so you need some strength
remove top. loop belt over the motor pulley and start belt onto drum pulley. turn drum pulley and belt will work its way on. there is just enough room to do this

Dryer squeaks when I use it

Hi, I had a squeaky Zanussi TC482W. Had it apart (easy to do) by taking the back off. Cleaned out fluff from around the drum and greased the rear bearing. Reduced the amount of squeak but still there. Took it apart again and almost by accident discovered that the bearing that the shaft at the rear of the drum sits in is actually in two parts. The actual bearing is shaped like the olive you get in plumbing compression joints and should be free to swivvle in the housing to allow some flexibility in drum rotation. A squirt of WD40 and some gentle wiggling with a piece of dowel soon had it free and its now flexible enough to take up the slight movement of the drum about its axis . Problem solved.
