Hi,

Browse through you camera's main menu. There might be a function that will enable you to switch from tape to sd card.

Cheers

When i try to record it dosent let mi and in the screen it shows a tape with a line through it. what do i do?

The tape with line through it indicates that there is some issue with tape/tape mechanism. I believe that the tape symbol is as follows:
shajanrs_45.jpg

If the tape warning indicator flashes slowly, the reason may be.
  • The remaining tape becomes shorter than the length of five minutes recording.
  • No tape is inserted
  • The write protected tab on the cassette is set to LOCK(red).
If you're confirmed that the reason is not the first and second, it should be because of the write protected tab on the tape.
Don't worry, I will help you with that. Please see the below picture to view the LOCK slide switch:
shajanrs_46.jpg

If the tape with line symbol flashes quickly, it indicates that the cassette has run out of tape.
If the issue persists, please follow the troubleshooting steps and check if that helps.
  1. Reinsert the tape.
  2. Reset the Camcorder by pressing the reset button behind the LCD panel using a sharp pointed object.
  3. Perform a power resetting
  • Turn off the camcorder. Disconnect AC power adapter. Remove the battery pack.
Move the POWER switch to the CAMERA position for 15 seconds.
Move the POWER switch to the OFF position.
Reconnect the AC power adapter or reinsert the battery pack.
    Turn on the camcorder.
If the issue persists, service may be required.
I hope performing the above steps should resolve the issue.
If you need any assistance please get back to me.. Thanks for understanding.

The eject symbol with an R shows when I insert a tape. I cannot record or view tape.

if R symbol appeared on your camcorder, it means that there's a mechanical fault in it. try soft reset on the camcorder by removing the battery and then insert it back again after one minute.

The no tape and eject symbols are flashing at the same time.

Those signs means Record tab on tape is ON, eject tape and check record tab and make sure to set it on Record position.

Genius G-Shot HD55 (camera) - How to get SD card working??

For Genius G-Shot HD55 you need to insert the SDHC card deeper into the slot until it clicks closed, like opening a pen, then when you want to remove it press it again until it clicks to release, like closing a pen. Your card is recognised after the deep click insertion and restarting the camera.

Flashing red symbol like a bowl crossed out

it means you have no back up battery installed to save time/date info. I know on the GL2 if you open the LCD screen there is another small plastic tab you can open and insert a relatively small battery. Do it and the icon will disappear. Otherwise its no big deal. If you dont need time/date stamps on your tapes then there is no need to install the battery unless you are just annoyed.

Cannot play my recorded films

if the camera is not showing recently recorded clips then the problem is fith the recording system, but if you are not able to view the old recorded tapes the there may the simple defect of head getting dirty. a head cleaning tape would solve the problem
